  1. ive heard it was cheif , generally being a messer, just "playing" at the game and went and messed it up right royally this time!!!
  2. as soon as i saw this post i was waiting for your reply. you know it makes sense!! see you soon mate!
  3. i really dont think youve been looking hard enough or know enough people/lines.......... there are MANY good russells out there doing the job day in day out. its a complete myth that there isnt!
  4. gavmac i would suspect (if im right in what im thinking) that the way that dog is breed would make you eat your words....... i might be wrong of course, but then atleast i try to THINK before i write!
  5. ive always had better results when cage trapping on banks to have a small clay pipe (the old foot long drainage pipes) leading into the trap, so the trap cannnot be seen atall and is in complete darkness. never used to bait them either, mink are very inquistive, the best draw for one is the smell left in the trap by another mink. would be worth you trying to find some old pipe, and make it look a tad more natural imo.
  6. my phone and camera went through a 30 degree spin not so long ago, 3 days on the radiator and there fine!!
  7. did you not drop the dog back in?
  8. f**k the ratting don, i'll come with you to help the keeper when the rest of them are ratting
  9. cracking photography....... http://www.restavfall.se/blog/2007/12/07/f...rym-hok-attack/
  10. dont want to get involved in the squabble, but it does work with sticks (or nails) quite well, or twine if you have it on you. and for anyone wanting to have a go, the sooner you do it after death the better.
  11. its is perfectly possible just with your hands. stand on the fox slit all the way round, roll it up slightly and pull. if the bone has come off simply tie twine to it and tie it to something that dosent move, then pull it out. and i dont do any of mine with meths, just leave the to dry, and i do the odd few
  12. think the hunt need to be contacted mate, not good form
  13. dont think any hunt terrierman should say there were moby (would be a sad day when they say they were), its like all things you get good and bad, and in this case different. but at the same time working for the hunt (good or bad) almost acts as their 'permission' so is closley guarded.
  14. so then you would know the situation with the terriers and terrierman...... i can only get info from what you put mate. and i can only assume that your replationship with the terrierman would not be the greatest or the issue of using your dog would of come up before. im not arguing with you, no one should even think about using a dog on a hunt day without already talking the terrierman, hounds at a mark is not the place to be asking even the most level headed of terriermen. i should think if you used your sister as an avenue to approach the terrierman and perhaps offer a hand in other ways yo
  15. i dont think theres many terriermen who would just let someone try their dog. i ahve lots of good mates with some ok dogs.... but they WONT even think of bringing them out on a hunt day, and if you want to go further with your local terrierman, nor should you. in theory he could of worked your dog for you to get over the licsense thing, but that kind of irrelevant. there are ALOT better ways to get in there with your local man
  16. you had that dog from a pup? he looks familiar.
  17. the going rate for good quality 1st and 2nd jabs range from about £8 to £14 +vat each trade price. the 2nd jab being slightly cheaper. boosters really should be on the cheaper side of this too. this is fairly industry standard so what ever your vet charges is added on top of this. wink note.... the price diffrence is because some jabs are alot better than others.
  18. if this has been up before i apolagise but if it hasent...... this was the evtual respose the government has given all those thousands of people that signed the online pertition.... The UK Government is satisfied with the effectiveness of the Hunting Act 2004, which bans all hunting of wild mammals with dogs, apart from the tightly-drawn exemptions set out in the Act. These exemptions are recognised as effective ways of dealing with specific pest control issues. The purpose of the Act, which the House of Commons passed by an overwhelming majority, is to end a practice that a clear
  19. id give it a go to see what it comes on like if you need somewhere for it to go to work.
  20. you best give them a ring marcos and let them know what you know........... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7009798.stm
  21. i know someone who races them and he and few friends went out to bring some new blood back. you are right what you say about them not being let off in this counrty but appartently over there its very diffrent. their onwers almost consider them hunting dogs as much as they do pulling dogs apparently, doing jobs like marking ice for seals, tracking scent........ however the climate is VERY diffrent and there is ALOT more space. as most have said i dont thnk there is much to add by introducing husky blood... but we will see, maybe. i would think if anyone was wanting to try it, it would better us
  22. cheers lads, much apprecitated. the plan is deker to get a large collection of landowner permission slips whne the application goes in, to try and keep my licesnce as open as possible. and Robuk, they went very funny when .243 and fox were mentioned in the same sentnce, i did argue the point but was getting nowhere, so looks like its just for deer!! wink
  23. can some good person on here tell me what details need to be included on the landowners permssion part of the FAC applictaion for rifles. a .22 and a .243. a rough outline that i can then adapt would be very useful, or even better a scaned image of the actual form if anyone has it. all info greatfully recieved, dan
