  3. love the beardie cross scottishlass, again, just my sort. beardie cross were the type my dad ran alot of when i was growing up, they were half crosses, and alot differnt lokking to that, alot rougher coated and heavier, pure workers, we had loads,(also had about 4500 sheep!!) great memories, at one point i remebr we had 7 that all used to sleep in the same stable, without even the faintest of quarrels. they just knew there job and thats all that mattered. so intelegent and could read people better then any dogs i have ever known, and ever willing to please. i have real admaration for a tr
  4. not actually mine, there a friend of a friends, but will be getting something very similar very soon. really easy to clean, completly bomb proof. and very easily tranferable. i have never been so impressed with kennels, could be argued they are a little small, but i dont think so. and as a bonus not actually that expensive. wink
  5. either or scottishlass. i would never rush into any dog, just know when you find the right one/type. i love the tri colours like the above picture and have my heart set on one similar. i have been to many sheepdog sales in my search and have been very keen on a few already working /starting but have yet to see the right one. i have even vistied rescue places to see if there has been the right dog i could give an oppertuntiy too, but to no avail. if it were a pup it would have to be from good working lines , this would really be my prefered option. cheers wink

  8. i suspect we have a case of the truth hurts. just step back mate, if wilf wasent bothered about the dog regardless of everything else, he would not of helped in the way he did, as far as i can tell he has been genuine throughout.i think his reply about the worms was in genuine disapointment for the dog. the dog has been given best now. i think hes one of the few good guys as a seperate note, but not knowing the circumstance,(only from the info given) i would be very diapointed to think a worm ridden dog would leave a fellow hunt kennels. there are very few other places where good wormer i

  11. have had problems in the past with this, just couldnt explain it, through talking to various people discovered it was actually being caused because the dogs were sleeping facing a draft, often the ones it affected slept with there heads out of the boxes, sounds silly but a few preventitive measers stopped it. worth thinking about, cheers wink
  12. All euthanased animals go to an incinerater mate, and a representative of the MLC is always(24/7)present to check everything that goes into the incinerater,so I am afraid you are wrong Squirrel tail.........sorry. cheers......Martin(ex MLC) not saying you dont know your stuff mate but this simply isnt true. we hold a liscense to dispose of dead stock, and under the defra ruleings aslong as we discard all the waste material properly,(incinertated or more comenly SRM skips) then the carcasses are ok to feed. as i say the guide line is (from a def
  13. i think alot of dogs feed of their "boss" without people really knowing it. the golden thread perhaps. we react diffrently to things, and in turn so do they.
  14. two things here lads, first in reply to squirel tail, i think it is possible that a few cases may of spread to what you have been told, i can only speak from first hand experience, having slaughtered ALOT of animals for dog consumption (not human grade meat) it is possible to feed meat that has been injected, most vets use a lethal injection that is injected into the neck, it affectes the heart and brain only, i have only ever known it in horses we get form the vet as eveything else we shoot, but the removel of the neck from the start of the rib cage, and all pluck makes the rest of the c
