    remember that when breeding hybrids / cross breeds, genetics dont work out in percentages, so the pups although bred like so on paper, can throw any way.

    is it 5/8 3/8 that you are after mate? or the more common 3/8 5/8, ? and the only sure way you would know if the dog was genuine bred this way woulld be to breed yourself which would take years, or buy off someone you know will tell you the truth about how he bred his dogs, it takes a long time to get good working dogs genuinley bred the way you are asking, all the best mate,

    its a 50 x 50 half cross mated with a 3/4 x 1/4. for example 1/2 collie 1/2 greyhound, mated to a 1/4 collie 3/4 greyhound = 3/8 5/8 lurcher or example 1/2 saluki 1/2 greyhound mated to a 1/4 saluki 3/4 greyhound = 3/8 5/8 longdog, a 50 50 is a half cross a 3/4 x 1/4 is bred by putting a 50 50, half (eg collie greyhound cross) back to a pure greyhound. eg collie greyhound x collie greyhound x greyhound eg saluki greyhound x saluki greyhound x greyhound or whatever cross you want cocker

    it will be very difficult to rectify, that fault now, if you want to get into lurchers, you would be better off getting rid of that liability, and getting a 6 week old pup and bringing it up yourself, dogs that are bad with stock, is a serious problem and also this is compounded by your dog being nervous, too be truthful mate, in my opinion you couldnt have a worse introduction to lurchers and hunting, (just my opinion,) all the best cocker

    i like to start them on some easy rabbits in july august time, i think about 10 months old is a good time to start them off, try to make sure he catches his first few rabbits, make sure they are a long way from cover or holes, and make sure he,s seen them properly, myxy rabbits are good and easy to catch,
