I'm A Lurcher And Terrier Man But Fancy Getting Into It
DUCKWING replied to Thesharpeend's topic in Fowl & Feather Talk
Dusk till dawn .... if ever there was a wannabee dyke shitter its you . you deserve the reputation you have built .... personally I wouldn't show you and your fellow tramps a birds nest ... carry on with your culls keeping them in lice and mite ridden shanty town drinking out of baked bean tins ... we will keep warning young kids about gypo theives Duckwing -
Well o.t.t. I hope while you at skipton you called in on the gypo motor mouth and buy some tin sheets , timber and mesh ...oh and some proper drinkers instead of the rusty baked beans tins you have hung on that shanty town you call a chicken yard as its a f****n disgrace ! And yes .... I agree bernie ... red bog bombers ?? Never heard of anyone calling there fowl such a name we would have heard ....... only time I have heard such names used is by gypos who have stolen fowl and dont know the real type / or trying to cover up their true identity ..... all sounds very fishy
-
Theres no room iam afraid in the gamefowl scene to sit on the fence and have a foot in both camps .... Men just wont take the risk of loose lips .... so fellas have to make there mind up quickly before they are known to associate with the wrong types .. Wheather its travellers or wrong uns in general . As make no mistake they will be treat like lepers ..no matter how much money who they are or what they know..... reputation is everything . Harsh but true .. Now as I said ....... the comment was on the barrel a simple question .... as I wanted to know are they kept on them overnight
-
Basil .... you must be daft as the proverbial " brush " The double edged question .... wasnt aimed at theft but rather the barrel set up ..... however ..... look to your own tribe for the fact that you are looked upon with a healthy dose of suspicion ... until the travellers get there house in order .... don't blame us for keeping our distance !
-
Lmao ...... wondered who would get it first ...after all they do think iam a gypo ! Tbh its a duble edged question .... as theres also a serious point to it . Duckwing .
-
O.T.T. nice fowl there ...... its hard to judge a bird on a perch but the bottom photoed looks nice sort . could I ask if the birds are kept on barrels over night Duckwing
-
Nice bird ukroosterman ...... will look even better when his tails fully grown in will give you a tip on the teepee via pm mate all the best Duckwing
-
Dont know the breeding .... but I bet you drop a name and put someone elses name in the frame
-
D.T.D the second photo you put up looks a far nicer sort ..if its the same bird ..which it looks to be I would say its the phone that ive looked at it on distorted the picture ... not the first time its happened . ... Dicky is a nice enough fella .... ive seen his fowl in the flesh and handled them .... some were quite nice others like his hennies and a light red were a bit cobby .... and he has some fig puddings which i saw .... the best birds i handled of his all contained a large preportion of blood from a breeder here ........ from the second photo I can see why hes being referred
-
That rant reminds me of the old saying ..... full to the top with the lid tightly on you will never learn owt kid . Duckwing
-
D.T.D Iam only being honest with you about my thoughts ..rightly or wrongly .... and didn't do it to cause offence . would you rather I tell you its fantastic then laugh behind the screen ? From my perspective the muff looked short in the back and a touch high tailed ... but that might have been the photos . As iam looking on from my phone which has a tendency to squash photos . Again good luck with the hennies ...cull hard and breed from only the best Duckwing claude .... thats never a fig pudding . ...imo
-
D.T.D. ........ you still aint learned a thing kid either about me ..... or from the photos ..fowl As I said good luck and I really hope you learn a bit along the way Duckwing
-
Good luck with them fellas ..... not my sort of fowl at all but each to their own ... I would call these half hennies due to the neck hackles and pointed sickles . No doubt these have full feathered siblings ? Duckwing
-
Must admit ...ott , I don't like that method ...for many reasons I had brood pens .... it takes up pen space as I can lift the hens sitting tight out into a box pen and put another hen into that brood pen ...where as you are stuck with a bird sitting in a pen at least 21 days ... ok if you only hatching a couple of sittings . I too always used a sod of grass turned upside down and hollowed to form the base of a nest ... but in a bucket ....the plastic retains the moisture just the same . Also ..... when the chicks are ready to hatch i can cover the nest keeping the hen insid
-
They can be .... I tie the handle to the pen and put a couple of bricks round them ...mainly to stop a nosey cock pushing one around . ..... when you are using 30 drums art a time they take up a lot of space compared to the buckets Duckwing
-
I perfer the 5 gallon buckets with lids ... simply take off the snap on lid and they are stackable taking up less space when not in use . Duckwing
-
Bohn hennies are mainly irish lines ...... I know the men rick imported from .
-
Pmsl ..... ok fella just a wynd up .. tbh ..... from your posts I expected a quotation from a book lol .
-
Sorry uk ...... thats not correct with all families ... I got 100% greys from a cross to my red families ...in the first cross . a lot cite such sayings and many books quote the same . tho have found the old leg colouration to run true .
-
If from ireland they will no doubt contain alsorts .......
-
There are lads with true hennies ........ a few mates of mine keep lines , like all decent lads they dont sell fowl and wont give fowl to anyone but well trusted friends . Duckwing
-
Ive tried ivermec ...... its no where near as good as they say ... Proved that to myself a few times
-
You can only show a bird when the shows on In other words hes got to take his chances with the judge...... 8 monthes would make him mid April hatched Depending on your line and how quick maturing it is I would try and get them off earlier or show stags later ... if you're showing against birds that have hatchedvin February they will be far more advanced even though its only a few weeks . at the end of the day it's only a show and one mans opinion .....
-
Very true astanley .... He has come on a lot since he started painting fowl ..I got a friend a red staff painted from him about ten years ago which is a beauty ...... A lot of friends have his work of their fowl ..Some of which I can see on the website

No argument there O.T.T. The man who has posted such questions and posts has a cabbage for a brain .... or very suspicious at the least
