    have you listened to yourself? you sound like an anti wanting another mans sport to get banned as a knee jerk to some crazed gun touting maniac the majority of people who have guns are law abiding sensible folks it only takes a bad apple here and there to spoil the barrell. some of us like to shoot and hunt with dogs why does it always have to be one or the other you can do both

    hes got a point if theres 2 or more lads spread out walking a field they will get spotted more than one lad creeping about with his dog

    get yourself a bit of rabbit permission in that area if you can mate they cant do nothing if you have a good reason for been there

    its simple really if you count how many rabbits your dog misses then add that to the amount of rabbits in the bag at the end of the night you can work out how well your dogs doing by its run to kill ratio. maybe your numerically challenged as well as dyslexic whin thats why its a problem for you

    its an instinctive thing they do to cover up there scent for going hunting so they can get closer to there prey without the prey animal smelling them

    thats a great idea if its on your doorstep what if its hundreds of miles away? before the ban lads travel to the fens from all over the country i suppose lab will say they should leave there dogs at home and take a gun instead

    you cant compare shooting and coursing ones legal ones not no gun is going to get in bother for shooting a hare on his permission and take it home but a dog lad could even if the farmer says its ok! common sense lads

    using a proven dog means you got more time to see if theres faults there a young dog could do great on its first season and jack the next winter but like you say bred for you and your family so if yous are happy then it nobodys busness

    why not use the maurice dog if thats older and more proven who cares how far away it is if you can travel to kill rabbits you can travel to use a good stud

    thats the point i was making mate if my dog accidentally killed a hare out rabbiting i wouldnt risk me dog i would put it in the hedge and walk off empty handed i think most folk who has had a tug would do the same?

    yes its a waste mate but you dont know what happened if a dog caught them by accident while out on a walk and plod came along what would you do,, risk loosing your dogs or stick them in a hedge and walk off empty handed?
