    Not a first cross, but something I've thought of more than a few times over the years, a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 german shepherd. I get on with gsd temperament etc, owned a cracking bitch years ago. 3/4 greyhound, as I believe they'd be a little more versatile than a first cross, but I'm basing that on a lot of the ground I've ran dogs on, the last so many years, so maybe a tad unfounded? But you really do need plenty of pace in most of these places.

    What is so hard for you to believe that no other dogs, apart from saluki/coursing breds, can catch hares? No-one has said any different. Maybe not with 100+ yards law, but loads of dogs up and down the country have, and do, catch hares. Like has been said, most people, on this site or not, will have pracically no interest in coursing the same way you are into it. And if truth be told, it'd bore most of us to tears!     Nope, no dogs at all at present. Without 'spilling my guts' to all and sundry on here, I'll just say, the last couple of years haven't gone to plan for us, for a number of unforseen reasons. Plus we've just bumped our numbers up, by one new little boy born on 9th march lol. So, with one thing and another, dogs have been put to the rear of my priorities for the time being. ?

    See, now this is why I just don't get you. The other day, according to you, whippets are crap, they collapse after a hard walk, they too small etc etc, now you say this?! I know here you are saying whippet/greyhound, but if you think whippets are no good, why would you cross one with anything, because surely, in your eyes they offer nothing to any dog?!
