I know for a fact that the timing chain done the damage mate......a known fault in that engine. 75k miles and it goes bang and Nissan say "Unlucky" but your on your own. Happened to 3 other people i have now spoken too and yet Nissan still maintain that there is "not" a fault...... Never again will i have a Nissan, there customer service is the pits Sorry to sound against but as you say a known fault ???? As far as i'm lead to believe all affected engines had a recall developed (maybe you re's was and the mechanic never did the job yet claimed the doe) only a thought .. As also stat

I know where you are coming from,i payed 12k for a 2yr old one a while back with 28k on the clock..it was never hammered and serviced every 6k miles..when it hit 90k on the clock the engine went bang,nissan where total wankers and because i did not keep my service history up with the rip of pricks they said it was my fault, , after endless emails i got no further foward and had to bite the bullet and sell it for £2500, ,the lads who bought it said they where making a living out of repairing them as they is that many going bang,my only advice to anyone who owns one IS get the bottom end beef

Its a good point.....no hurry to sell it really, plenty space for it to sit here. Al just get a wee run around for the moment. Body work is good and its went well......until now

The dog will do the job with ease just as a lab would do but i would make the decision on what kind of cover you will be working. If its going to be alot of gorse then i would look no further than a spaniel but if its going to work heather, braken and maybe game cover then the choice is yours
