  1. If i've got it wrong sorry bud. I only saw a clip of it on the news today and thought the bald headed guy doing the interview was one of the soldiers involved......
  2. I'm very interested to hear from anyone who was/is in the forces on that ex soldier speaking about this.
  3. Anyone thinking the same as me.....................................Rake and Kittlerox.....
  4. was what you said and thats not my point ive learnt the hard way in training by doing it all wrong and spoiling what could have been a really handy dog, ive moved on and learnt from my mistakes not the dogs and have seen some really good progress in the ability of my dogs though a better understanding of how to bring out there ability. Ok mate i did read your first post slightly wrong, hold my hands up. But you did say if it brings a shoe to you then replace it with a toy. Then what is the dog to do with the toy? Not looking for an arguemenet here just interested in different ways off trai
  5. It doesn't bother me mate as i dont have acres of farm land and i dont run dogs. If i did run dogs i'd be ashamed at half the shite i read on here. Yes you can tell you dont run dogs. I wonder if you would be so understanding if one of your labs was shot for doing its job. I think not. Well if my lab was running about in the middle of the night worrying sheep then i shoot the b*****d myself!
  6. Thats exactly what I did write and you said it was bollocks, have a look. You gave the scenario when you realized you had made yourself look a fool. Yes i'm the fool here................go and read post 96....you wrote the f*****g thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me for not putting the word ONLY in There is no excuse for saying its NOT bollocks for shooting dogs for running game. Would that be your excuse for shooting a dog, it was not ONLY running game? Still dont get it do you........

  8. Your right lab, theres poachers and then theres poachers. Personally I much prefer permission but lets face it, it aint easily come by and sometimes some places are just too good to not chance. Its a vicious circle for dog men! But shooting a mans dog who is doing no harm but running a hare or lamping rabbits or whatever is down right low and shitty. I can understand why some landowners do it but certainly dont agree with it. Its like someone getting their shed broken into all the time and then getting so worked up that when he catches a young lad pinching a plum off his tree he goes outsi

  10. No i'm not i'm giving you scenarios.....you said any farmer that shoots a dog is scum?....Feel free to correct me where i've went wrong...... I think you will find I said "shooting dogs for running game are scum" You should learn to read If you wrote "running game only and not bothering any livestock" then i would have agreed with you. I gave you a scenario where i think a farmer would not be labelled as scum.....you cant see that....not my problem...
  11. What a load of f*****g bollocks!!! Whats bollocks about it? do you condone shooting dogs for running game? because if you do your also scum If a dogs is worrying stock they have a case other than that they dont. No i dont think shooting a dog for running game is right but if there worrying sheep then its your f*****g fault and not the dogs. I should re-read his post lab because he didnt say anything about livestock and infact explicitly stated game... Chasing game through fields of pregnant ewes can be just as much damage. Very true, but thats classed as stoc

  15. I never said in a day mate and i agree you can only look at it over a season. I sort of used my grandad as a rule when i posted my last post. He came out the army and rented ground all over the place. He laid snares and ferreted and he made a mans weekly wage in 2 days at the rabbits..(so he told me, ki have no reason to disbelieve him). He was great at what he done and people told me that he learned them how to do it properly and how to be able to catch numbers. Yes maybe any idiot can go shooting them with a rifle but snaring and ferreting does contain a certain skill to catch and catch wel
  16. Lab

    insulation

..............and its in need of filling...........
  17. I never said you did..... I also never said tell off a dog for retrieving, far from it.
  18. Well Duncan i'd say we have some different ideas on how to train a dog. I'd really like to hear from some of the other lads/lassies on here training gundogs and what there views on letting dogs carry things for whatever time the dog feels like? Maybe i have been doing something wrong....
  19. ....I would love to see a video of him catching stuff..........
  20. FTB....how old are you? you must be early 20's? I had you down as an angry and twisted old man.....kind of like a Scottish version of a cross between victor meldrew and basil faulty You can't be young!!!! I'm 22 years young auld yin But it's been a hard 22 years FTB 22...........................................20 f*****g 2.................. And heres me thinking your an old fart in his 50's who's had a hard life, had to graft for everything and basically lived a bit and in reality your just a cheeky little c**t!!!......

  22. Or maybe "The drugs dont work".............
  23. Depends what method. Purely ferreting with nets then its down to numbers home. But there is a skill in knowing what holes are more likely to be occupied. What about the rabbit trapper using drop boxes and snares, theres skill involved in that. What about shooting bolting rabbits, theres skill involved in that too. I'd say the man that goes home with the bigger bags is the better of the two. Especially when years ago a rabbit was worth something and you could make a living at it.....
