Well if your getting rid of Carrick anytime soon i think Green and White hoops would suit him perfectly............ Keep your hands off Carrick mate, he's our best midfielder.... The only difference i'd say between Jones and Rooney is Jones is a young lad possibly trying to find his best position where as Rooney is known for club and country as a striker, and always has been a very good one at that.....i'm just not sure that putting him further back will be everyones cup of tea.......If i was a midfielder being left out because a striker who wasnt possibly playing his best upfront was given my position in midfield i'd be offski.....

Thats fair enough mate........i'm only talking about Rooney cause its a Utd thread but i'm thinking how i would feel if it was a Celtic player. I honestly think there should be 3/4 players battling it out for every position at the club( if finances allow so) and if its 2 upfront then the best 2 play all the time and the other 2 come on as subs or injuries. If you play well, score goals imo you should never been asked to sit on the bench...this goes for every position on the park by the way too. Cause football teams that do well are players that get on and dont bicker like f***ing women........

So what your saying is now that there are better players taking his forward position and he plays a decent ball in mid-field now and again he should get a place over say a world class mid-fielder next season? Or as a fan would you rather see a proper mid-fielder come in?... fergie tried it before with alan smith and it did pay off to a degree..........however rooneys a different kettle of fish altogether...........as the link between midfield and strikers..........he could be immense......... Seems to me he's getting to fat and slow and there looking for another position that suits

I'm not sure! Get Falcao in, and hopefully Ronaldo. Get rid of Nani, as Malt says drop Rooney into midfield if he stays he needs to start earning his keep ASAP!! Defence wise it's all good, i think Evra might go and i'm a bit suspect on Buttner so maybe a new left back. Welbeck out on loan and Hernandez to Real Madrid. probably.... See that decision to drop Rooney back into mid-field i think that would be a bad bit of management in the long term. I can see why it could be beneficial in the short term maybe due to injuries or whatever but over a long period of time i think it would be w

On the wider issue I agree. There is no need for the paranioa we are seeing at the moment; the antis aren't stupid, those that want to do us real harm aren't going to post, or even register on the site; they'll just sit and quietly read what they want and take action at their leisure.
