  1. you seem to be doing nothin wrong mate but my advice would be to invest in a flapper, it drives them nuts they seem more intent on watching and calling to it than watching you in the hide. ive had my best days by not bothering with a feeding pattern a such but once you have a few with the flapper throw them about randomly in front of your hide making sure a few not all have their feet pointing skyward with wings spread, this will bring in every crow in the area as soon as some start cawing to them not just one or two, theyll come lower and lower until theyre in shot if theyre keen they dont go

  8. well done mark, i always said you were a lucky coont will phone soon mate and get you back up into gods country for a look out. alan.
  9. if you zero bang on at 35yds your secondary zero will be somewhere around 125yds with only 0.9 inches of rise in between. so out to 125yds you can really aim bang on. alan. p.s. this applies to 17gr heads only.
  10. thanks for that.... yes i believe it is an aya yeomen, just out of curiosity, can you remember what was stamped on the barrels indicating what choke it was..? sorry mate cant remember at all but ive seen a few yeoman's over the years and most if not all have been 1/2 and full choke but as said only way to be sure is to gauge the barrels.
  11. pretty simple mate either buy or borrow a choke gauge from a gun shop and stick it in the end of each tube it'll only go in so far and thatll tell you how its choked. hope this helps. p.s. if its an aya yeoman i had one years ago that was choked 1/2 and full, very hard hittting gun
  12. aye am p##sin them off summin terrible across the a7 from you, they told john that they must be doin a good job on charlie coz they hardly raise any now, then he told them we'd shot nine in the past 4 weeks wi the lamp
  13. you should know zapper all you had to do was come and see me or beattie an we wouldve put you right lol i'll take you for a go on the pigeons if you like an you can try my gun wi the extension on it.
  14. had a vixen the same on one of my shoots that i had foxhunter up to, not lamp shy but wouldnt come to a call, sadly she died tonight of a 243 related illness well done on your fox mate.
  15. although technically not related to you in law i dont think that she could countersign your application because she would have to declare her relationship to you. IMHO best get somebody else to sign i think to save any grief.
  16. to hit with every shot at 200yds with the 17 would take great skill and practice and any wind adds another factor, think of the 17 as more of a 150yd gun and youll get a lot more fun out of it unless its dead still and you are dialled in. practice practice practice and youll love it.
  17. hi mate, i have the cz varmint and the way to go is to fit a brookes trigger kit which you can either order direct ( sorry i dont have the link ) or you can maybe get one local they retail around 13 quid, easy to fit and you can lighten the trigger to what you want and solves creep. the groups you are getting are good, you could maybe get them smaller but not by much at 100yds but lets face it, its perfectly adequate for hunting. remis are as good as the next cartridge but try other make but most think its the batch of ammo not the make that matters so if you find a good one buy as much as yo
  18. Nice shooting lads, good snap, what gun you useing? its an ageing BSA CF2 stutzen in 243 but still accurate as hell, with an ase S5 mod mate.the charlies round here dont like it much though

  23. It won't if you carry on like that, can't even say good shooting because I expect they came in nice and close being juveniles!............"Horses for Courses" I guess though. christ theres always one!!!, to some of us its pure predator control mate not sport so why make life difficult, are we to leave them until they get into one of the pens then shoot them ??? well done foxy we'll double that once we start on my patch
