  1. I'd second that the lightning is a good basic rifle but for the money you can pick up a secondhand 95 and they are worlds apart in build quality
  2. theoben evolution sounds about right for the job if you ask me
  3. sorry my bad got it mixed up found this and stand corrected ... Hunting mice, rats, rabbits, and haresThe Hunting Act bans activities that Parliament believed to be cruel sports and permitted activities that it believed to be necessary for land managers. Parliament accepted the view that, where rats and rabbits were pests, hunting them was legitimate.[36] MPs did not believe that there was any necessity to use dogs to hunt mice[37] and believed that hare hunting was cruel, which is why these activities were not exempted from the Act. These two exemptions do not make it possible for "t
  4. the 97kt comes with the hog's back thunbhole stock as standard and yes the .177 spring is abit stronger as it has to push the lighter pellet quicker here you go £400 brahttp://www.sunderlandscubacentre.com/hw97kt-air-rifle.html?___store=defaultnd new
  5. try h&n field target trophy as a springer does generally better with a lighter pellet and the ftt's are very accurate
  6. Hi Mrs Mole welcome and good choice on rifle it was my first pcp in .177 i loved it to bits till the shot count and multi shot bug got me
  7. looks the business i was looking at one of those at newark but i'm a tight git and i'm gonna make my own ghillie suit instead but let us know how you get on
  8. best bet is to have a trip out there without the rifle for starters and just observe where they are feeding, coming from, running to if they get spooked, how much public activity there is (last thing you want is to have to argue the toss with someone who walks their dog there everyday) take a pad and note down the times when they are most active and where you can ambush them from and then get blasting the little buggers
  9. i would personally go for maybee a hw97t if you like your thumbhole stock and a very smooth and quiet springer
  10. well done sounds like you'll have some good sport there
  11. I had the fortune of buying one of the last made brummie raider 10's in 177 new from manny airguns a year ago(it had been on the shelf that long ) it was nice and cheap but tbh it struggled with pellets it hated jsb's and bis mags which is unusual in a .177 but for the money it was a decent rifle even though it liked to spit its mag out into the grass while out lamping
  12. ok sorry if the list is long but it goes to show how different barrels like different pellets AAs200 in .177 aa field 4.52/ bsa lightning in .22 rws superdomes-superfields/ falcon fn12 in .22 aa fields/ daystate harrier in .22 logun penn's 16 gr/ fn12 light hunter multi in .22 fx/ webley raider10 in .177 jsb exacts/ hw100t in .22 fx/ bsa hornet in .22 falcon ap's/ logun s16 mk1 in .22 logun penn's 16gr/ hw77k in .177 h&n ftt's/ smk synxs in .177 rws superfields/ bsa ultra in .177 daystate rangemaster Li's/ AA s400k in .177 h&n ftt's so theres a bit of a broad spectrum

  18. i would chronograph an entire shot string from a full fill and if its not all over the place i would leave it and experiment with pellets to raise the ftlb (if it aint broke dont fix it)
  19. i think they started turning rifles out of the factory doing 10.5 ish as the at was introduced but i think they have now decided that too many people are complaining and sending there rifles back to be tweaked up
  20. would take £250 on "bare rifle"
  21. nice choice there just think you get a few more shots per fill and probably more consistancy with it running at that and not to the max
  22. Hi all well i never thought i'd sell this but i,ve just bought an ultra in 177 and an o/u so something has to give, I have for sale an Air Arms S400k in .177 its in "as new" condition it is one of the newer ones with at fitted but its running spot on at 11.7 with aa fields and a bit less with bis mags, has only seen occasional use from me for paper punching and the odd ratting sesh it has hush stalker sling studs fitted and a gamo stretch sling, it has a hw silencer fitted via an 1/2 adapter so no nasty grub screws it has a tasco 6-24x50ao fitted but this could be exchanged for a more co
  23. that depends on his fac type if he has a closed ticket then yes he is restricted to police aprroved areas but if you have a open ticket you can shoot where you deem fit generally you shouldnt need a fac rifle to shoot on "small plots of land"
