To me the scots won't vote ukip because they equate them with the tories and are generally a lot more left wing than england, probably due to being shielded to some extent from the immigration problems england has suffered.

If it is a yes vote the left will do everything in their power to break england up into bitesize pieces, they will talk of autonomous regions or city states. Surely if its a close vote either way or the othere there will be nearly 50% of scots hacked off with the other nearly 50% or whatever. Could lead to a very unstable and resentful situation in scotland, its those sorts of highly emotive national upheavals that could potentially lead to militancy.

Scottish nationalism is civic lefty nationalism. Upto now you have been sheltered from immigration as the vast majority have been soaked up by England, salmond has said he wants more immigrants and with independence you will get that. You will jump out of one union and straight into the eu so not really independence. A positive of a yes vote would mean a few million lefty voters gone and a decent swing to the right in England.
