seeing this has prompted me to repair and clean my lotus protek boots , ive just repaired 2 of the eylets and gave them a good clean and waterprofed them ready for tomorrows day out theyve been good boots and if i remember right they were quite cheap but they have done 5-6 seasons now admitted they havent done much this year as ive used a pair of romainian army boots that have been brilliant bought of ebay for £60 the only thing with the protek boots is you sound like a cart horse walking around as the soles are solid but theyve been good boots

well i beg to disagree i sent mine back to barryvox just before xmas to be cleaned out and replace the contacts and serviced it was out of warranty as mine was one of the first one s out but they emailed me the other day total charge 38 euro and it arrived in the post yesterday morning all cleaned up new screen etc at first i thought theyed sent me a new one but mine has a chip out of the bottom and a large deep scratch on the back so they did as asked and more and its as good as new now can t fault them , did you speak to barryvox or one of there agents as ive heard facewest don t want to kn

the old knocker box was a revalation when it came out then the b&f was the best thing since sliced bread and is still ok for the job but times have evolved and theres better locaters out there but you go along way to beat the barryvox with a bellman collar

the 3 plus is a modern version of the d3 patroller and that was a tidy bit of kit

i done a thread on it the cheapest was 150 ive just looked on ebay and it 173 on there the best place to look is on the ski snow forums loads of info on there just found it for 204 on ebay type in avalanche trancievers

find the thread i put up on the bca tracker 2 theres some links on there i think the french was the cheapest at £150 the trackers a good bit of kit but i still say the barryvox is the dogs nuts

the worst thing in this game has got to be losing a good dog with a few seasons graft under its belt digging to a dead dog is bad enough but to have one enter and just disappear is a gut rencher never to be seen or heard of again -
the barryvox is far better than the pieps or the red brick hold your bellman collar 300mm away from the box then push them together the pieps will read .3 the brick will go down to .2 and your barryvox will go 0.0 and its a lot faster than the bellman so any movement will register quicker the old pieps box its a 2-3 second delay the brick is a bit quicker were as a barryvox is instant and the barryvox doesnt jump about like the bellman IMO the barryvox and bellman collar [made by barryvox] are the best out there there quick spot on accurate robust 5 year warranty , the BCA tracker 2 ive been p
