  8. In a word , NO . Save some more and get a decent springer . You`ll get a decent second hand one for double that . But believe me , for £100 you`ll regret it .
  9. The S410k is a cracking bit of kit . I have one , a BTAS regged one , that has about 120 shot before any loss of power . Obviously as its regged , there is no power curve , and it really is my favorite rifle . Being a carbine , its nice to use from the car , and easy to carry about . As said before , the Rowan Multi shot mag is a great addition to any 400 series , but if your going to be lamping then its just the loading in the dark thats a pain in the arse . That said , if you take up FT/HFT the 400 is the favoured gun as you have `unload` the mag between each shot on an S410 , so the sin
  10. Power ?? All sub 12 lb air guns are just that , sub 12 lbs . That does`nt mean that it will run better at 11.5 than 10.5 . Peolpe are obsessed by power. Get on shoot the breeze and ask how many of the top shooters run their guns at 11.5 and how many run em at 10 ? I bet any money it`ll be the lower of the two . All guns are a tad low when new , as like all things they have to run in . You`ll need about 2000 pellets before its putting out full power , ide be weary of any gun thats running at 11 straight from the box .
  11. Rangefinding in HFT Rangefinding in HFT is a huge subject so I won't go into great detail since if you're new to the sport I wouldn't want to scare you off..(So I just lied there is quite a lot of detail in this post ) For bracketing, I can tell you that on a standard knockover target (the most common target used in HFT and FT) the distance from the top of the hinge plate to the centre of the killzone is 110mm (except a 15mm Squirrel target which is about 112mm). You can also take measurements of each different target type and produce a range card from that. I have more than a l
  12. HI Gollum , the Hawke scopes you speak of are ( IMO ) very good , clear , and well made. I personally like hawke , especially as they have good light gathering capabilities . You can expect to use it well for rangefinding , as long as you know what your doing . As far as a wheel , look on e bay , jsramsbottom , bbs , the usual suspects . Do you shoot 177 or 22 ? have a play with chairgun ,and once you know your trajectory you can get the scope set up . To be honest its all a bit beyond me ive , mapped my scope so i know where i am , and its same from 13 -35 yds ( 177 ) bit of hold over or und
