one that comes back out alive smart arse :thumbs: never worked piles before but id say one with a good nose,staying power,steady on there feet,not overly hard but one that will shift a the fox when needs be,and preferably one that will work the fox outta the pile because some can be deep and then ye got a excavation on yer hands :blink: i take my hat off to any you lads out there who love the old rocks Thats a long post for ye hippy

Aint worked many rock piles as theres none where i work terriers, but worked a few on days out with other folk and what i saw good bayers that would mix well and get into the fox and shift it seemed to do the job

i was thinking that to thats over a 12 year period got 4 direct off billy here an others have died during work and through injury sad to say 10 lurchers over 12 years is still alot thats a new dog on every 14 1/2 months thats 2 seasons,how many outta those 10 did ye see jack ??

If your caught on any sett or earth these days with a shovel and terrier ye are in court,even if your doong terrier work within the law if a member of the public phones the police and they attend with the rspca ye have a good chance of ending in court,if ye are digging here within the law and the police attend they will more or less just question ye and ask to see the landowner or shoot captain or keeper and after a chat the police will leave,but if the police yurn up with the rspca no matter how well within the law ye will end up with a tug for sure,my best advice is dont be seen not matter w

Ive always used bull or wheaten types or a mix of both over the years never seen anything else do the job as well no doubt blokes have had them but ive never seen 1,had a wheaten cross jack on me yesterday as well though
