  2. The local dog pound round our way refuse to let any one take a dog if they think it my be worked the local council stopped funding because of this. they said as long as it,s used to hunt legaly it should not be bias as any home is better than the pound but the brain dead bunny huggers would,nt have it so funding was removed and I for one totally agreed not somthing I usually do when local councils are concerned
  3. Cheap!? so basically you want a dog that doesnt perform, so someone is getting shut of it nice and cheap... Or you want someone to seel you there top dog that is doing 3 in 3 for next to f... all coz you put a post on here, lol... Plenty in the dogpound donation only
  4. That method only works on the basis, that if you've made the dog stay away from you, it naturally wants to come. It doesn't train the dog to come over long distances when it doesn't want to. It's also bad practice to recall from a stay position during training, it easily leads to an unsteady stay.Good practice is to go to the dog, touch and release the dog. best practice in the field is to, whenever possable send the dog on from the stay before recall.Only recall from the stay when you have to. It does if you increase the distance using a whistle untill your 2 or 300 meters away eventually
  5. I think going back to basics in your garden or other enclosed area sit stay lay ect once she sits on command and stays recall will come easily jmo.

  13. Talking of sticking together perhaps we should start a religion something to do with living off the land only eating what we pursue ourselves - don't you only need something like 10,000 signatures before a so called "religious" group can be recognised by parliment. Get out of that one in court....
  14. This was an article in our local paper today after weeks of prejudice reporting towards fieldsports in particular coursing they are now urging people to unite about the following:- "There is growing evidence (the latest in a book by a marine biologist) that fishes, like every other animal can feel fear and pain. The time has surely come to consider the banning of angling. There is no excuse for any animal to suffer harassment, torture and death just for someones fun. I would appeal to anyone who loves animals to join the campaign to have angling banned. It would have happened years ago if

  22. I've bred and worked whippets for more than 20 years some do mature mentally at a younger age even if you run it with another dog if it isn't mentally mature it will yap. Personally I start mine around 10 months on their own usually ferreting or bushing gives them an ideal start letting the dog find the rabbit itself. If started to young can lead to toe and joint problems not to mention the fact it can dishearten a dog because it can't get to them, they may look quick but put with an older experienced dog of 14 plus months you will notice the difference. I've found through past experience tha
