    I have a 14" anschutz with a rws manders moderator the only problem I ever have is that it is so short I keep shooting the wing mirror off my landy

    Don't be put off fella by all the doom sayers yes the money to start with is poor but if you work hard and are ambitious then there are good well paid jobs out there but you need the contacts to hear of them good jobs are rarely advertised go to college get trained don't piss it against the wall and you might stand a chance of making a fantastic keeper.

    The reason I got a .22 pistol is because the police refused to add humane dispatch to my .22 rifle they advised me to get another pistol.I was told home office guidelines do not permit humane dispatch as a condition on a rifle

    I am surprised he seized the gun if you have a 2 shot magazine for the gun then you are acting lawfully what he has done is assume that you will break your certificate conditions and by doing so break the law it would be similar to the police issuing a ticket for speeding before you got in the car. I guess I am lucky I was granted a s&w .357 mag revolver 6 shot and a walther p22 10 shot .22 semiauto pistol I have never had any questions with regard to capacity. Best I can suggest is to phone the basc and ask for some help

    Have you considered that most syndicates are made up of working men from normal backgrounds some of which work damed hard to be in a syndicate toffs with dosh don't need syndicates they have their own land and buy days shooting can't see many of them filling hoppers in their savile row suits

    If you look into to you can plant WM1 which is a wild bird mixture the landowner will get a grant for it in a similar way to setaside in the wm1 mix you can have linseed,quinoa,kale,millet,yellow blossom clover and a number of other components we use about 50 acres of it as partridge cover and it is well liked and we get paid to have it If you ring Nick at Hurrel and McLean specialist seeds he has a huge wealth of knowledge and would point you in the right direction their number is 01377 271400

    not sure what giant sawgum is fella but elephant grass is actually another name for mischanthus no relation to sorghum at all. Maize can easily out compete millet so it is best planted separately in alternating strips,dwarf sorghum could be used instead of maize and it is good to plant both red and white millet to extend the seed bearing window some quinoa and triticale can help too

    If his local gun shop is the sportsman then it is no surprise as they excel in poor service. I agree about the anschutz/sako although I have an anschutz I don't pay for my rifles if I had to it would be a cz and then spend big money on the .223

    I think you could be right re my load,For my application (head/neck shots only) I find it perfect but it would not be legal in Scotland and if you heart shoot it makes a hell of a mess so might not appeal to everyone if however you used a 100g soft point you get a compromise between .243 and .270

    it will specify on your fac whether you can buy a .17 or .22 I would get the .22 the cz is a good rifle to start with though it does not have the range it is a more versatile round imho the .17 is not as loud as a shotgun when fitted with a moderator but again it will specify on your fac as to whether you can buy one

    25 06 fella with an 85 grain nosler it launches at 3600 it will stop any deer you find and is wicked on fox I shoot about 150 deer including fallow,red and sika plus 100 fox a year with it
