100% agree with you mate shame theres some sad c**ts like to go digging this time of season killing vixens feeding cubs everything deserves a rest If you can only dig legally for the protection of game birds and as gamebirds are about to start their nesting season why would any one stop digging on a shoot at this time of year it is imperative to get as many litters of cubs killed as possible I guess some sad c**ts see digging as a sport and don't rely on digging as being part of their job

?????? Not sure if you are disagreeing with me or suprised that the BASC are not the best orginisation to support stalkers needs. I will admit to being privi to only a small amount of information on the lead ban but from what I do know the RSPB & BASC have both moved to support the use of non-lead bullets for stalking deer due to very small amounts of lead contamination in venison, so in fact I doubt based on their stance they would support the use of high frag bullets (at a high level of managment). For a change even the Gov have stepped back and requested MUCH more information. The B

If the uk took the same attitude as australia has with the commercial shooting of kangaroo's and only permitted head shooting then the issue of lead contamination would not be a problem as the head is removed and does not enter the food chain

HI fella well done on the new job it can be a bit daunting taking a single handed position I remember the day I took my first single handed job what a learning curve it is,Just a small word of advice don't kill your self tending the birds take time to think and step back from the job it is really easy to get blinded by work and miss obvious problems As for the guns a good quality .22 as a work horse and a .222 will fit the bill nicely if a fox is too far for the .22 then the .222 will take over their ain't no need for a .17 don't forget to add moderators to your application

I still can't see the problem does any one really think that you will be prosecuted for using bt as apposed to hp/sp the cps haven't got the time nor money to take people to court on a technicality that I would guarantee they would loose, my noslers have a polymer tip which is clearly softer than the rest of the jacket and as such must qualify as soft point although I don't have access to a rockwell meter a simple test with a knife proves that the tip is of a softer construction.

Not sure I understand the argument my certificate states, The certificate holder may possess, purchase or acquire expanding ammunition,or missiles of such ammunition,in the calibers authorized by this certificate and use only in connection with, a,the lawful shooting of deer, wildboar and Fox B,the shooting of vermin or,in connection with the management of any estate, other wildlife, C,the humane killing of animals So as ballistic tips expand that will be just fine then

i would think the same aplys.have you used them? No fella I haven't but I did wonder about using them in my 300 rum 100 grains of powder behind a 55grain vmax f##k me what would that be moving at? I can get a 110 vmax to run at 4100fps I am not sure what a 55 grain would do I think I would have trouble with the bullet fragmenting in flight a mate of mine has the software to run the load on his computer I will call him and get the numbers

But was it a semi auto ??? I doubt it- it would have been .32 S&W which is a rimmed revolver cartridge... why are you so interested in a semi auto pistol anyway? they probably won't grant you a semi auto unless the magazine is welded in else you would just change it for a higher capacity one if you were up to no good- plus you wouldn't be able to load the magazine from the top anyway as the rounds are not pressed in like a rifle mag, but loaded more mike a mag on a rimfire or a tikka T3- as they feed singly from the center of the magazine from a staggered or single stack dependi

starting up a shoot
danw replied to will_cox's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Better stick these FACTS up in your local paper mate and advertise yourself as the worlds best Gamekeeper, i am sure there will be land owners fighting over you to be there keeper? I am not writing this for an argument mate but if "anybody" took your advice on numbers of poults needed there shoot would be well and truly f***ed from day 1. [/quot these FACTS are something we simply went from lab tastic, we put down an large volume of birds, and always got our return. i wouldnt think it advisory to advertise our wealth of birds in OUR LOCAL PAPER AS YOU STATE. as would surely attract wro -
