    Its going to be cold / carbon steel, which is about a million times better than the stainless shit and looks similar to scout knives i have seen and also a hitler youth combat knife i have seen. Interesting that in the third picture down that looks like a german iron cross (the top symbol).

    I think it has always got to be an advantage if the greyhound is regularly killing fox - shows that she has the fire in her for the job you want the pups to do. Also if she can handle good nights lamping, then it shows she has the brains, stamina, agility, prey drive etc, not just the speed. If i was going to do it i would want both dogs (dam and sire) to be tested as i could manage at the job i intended them to do.

    Big difference between pigs and other quarry like fox is that pigs hang out in family groups so you tend to see a few of them stood together, some large and some small. You slip the dog at the group, they split and the dog decides which one it grabs. Was the guy meant to shout - oi you daft c**t, not that one, get the big f****r. . . . .. . and then his dog was going to drop the one it had hold of and go after a bigger one? That pig isn't actually that young as it has lost all its piglet markings. And stewie - i notice you never gave ned makim this kind of stick.

    To sort the noise - stick a piece of gaffa over the speaker. You can always peel it back if its too quiet. To be honest at this time of year i use it a lot more to find the ferrets above ground as where we are ferreting is often under a mass of vegetation, so we just collar them up and let them go at the edge of the cover and they find the holes themselves and bolt for the dogs.

    Written by idiots it seems. Read an article recently where some lads were going ferreting on some new land, that they knew had plenty of rabbits. They knew there were a lot of rabbits because the farmer had shot 2000 last season. When they went they were surprised that there weren't so many rabbits about.

    The only reason i use a priest is when i'm ferreting alone and a large number of rabbits are hitting the nets, i pull the net, whack the rabbit and throw it back still in the net, setting another. Saves the seconds it takes to pull them out and stretch them.

What gets me is folk always wading in with generalizations which usually go 'xxx cross or breed are ALL shit', and when you try to argue that you have seen or own a good one, then they proceed to tell you, you are an idiot and not a 'real' dog man etc. And then offer you out to either fight, or run your dog against theirs for money.
