  1. I'll keep my eye open, unfortunatly i have a time limit.
  2. Cheers mate, length is not really a problem.
  3. Aye i hadn't considered one of those, how does it handle?
  4. f*****g hell mate, that made me chuckle.
  5. You're starting to get good at this
  6. I'm keen on finding a second hand regged gun, i'm just always wary of buying second hand through websites, often not quite what it says on the tin. Also there is the waiting time, i need it pretty quick, i'm going to have to do some fairly horrible ferreting on Friday and lamp with a .410 / single shot springer, which is not ideal. An air rifle will make life a lot easier. Looks like i'm joining the gang lads!
  7. Cheers for that Sean, i'm very new to the PCP thing, always having used spring rifles, either webley of weirach. The lamp will have to be scope mounted as i will mostly be a lone. One thing that worried me with the ultra was its small size, i will have to visit a gun shop to try one. Is there really much difference between the Ultra and the s200/400 other than personal preference? I mean on performance in the hunting field? Cheers, Jai.
  8. I think there are definatly things you can do before you work them that will make them take to the work better, and things you can do in entering to get them really keen on it. But i don't think you can 'make' a worker, they are bred. They either have it or they don't and while you get a lot of 'working' ferrets, only a few really special ones, that stand out to you (anyone who has had a number of ferrets will always be able to pick out 1 or 2 special ones). R.E tricks, you can get them to do most things, they are very smart, and it wont effect their working performance, its your call if y
  9. Locators should be at the top of the shopping list my jill came in got her jabbed and she came in again about 3 months later. I never used a hob i didnt like to put the jill through the roughness of a mating for nothing in the end. I think the ones point is that they are probably the final thing, you'll be needing a box, nets etc, before you can do much with the ferret, but it IS possible, and quite safe in many places to ferret without a locater at first. Interesting she came in again, did you wait a wee while from when she was fully swollen, or just get her jabbed as soon
  10. As long as you have a safe back stop, and are shooting on permission, and at legal quarry. . . . your good to go! (That's a yes).
  11. Had a look but couldnt find a 'for sale' section . . . .
  12. I do like the look of the AAs410, the only down side is i need the gun fairly quickly, and can't really sit about hoping for a good deal, and new they are fairly pricey.
  13. Hello Guys! I have fannied about for the last year or so looking at various PCP and top end springer air rifles, with the view to buying one, but have never brought myself to take the plunge. However, today something came up that has led to some new rabbit work, and potentially a lot more after that. The thing is it's pretty much ideally suited to lamping with an air rifle, and a bit of evening shooting. No chance of dealing with the volume of rabbits with the shotgun, fairly terrible place to ferret, trappings a no go, and a rifle is also pretty much a no go. As a result i have d
  14. Hannah has got it spot on. If you want collie blood for any form of work, be it farm work or hunting, your best bet is to look for a working hill collie, the kind that is out 365 days of the year running over any ground, putting in a full day etc.
  15. GIve us more info on what you want, we are not that far away.
