Very true, i would just doubt that many dogs, after performing well for say 4 seasons, would suddenly 'become' shit one night, on rabbits? After 4 seasons and on rabbits if the dog had been doing well, you would deffo look for other causes to a dog underperforming, thats a no brainer imho, but if there are no other causes then it may just have chucked in the towel.....it happens. who mentioned "one night" you know a dog well enough after that amount of time to notice a change,put it down to a off night?give it a break?only to go out again and watch it all happen again,like wilf says

the humble rabbit will jack more dogs than you think. That'd be the owner mate, rather than the rabbit. Lack of fitness, poor bond etc etc. f**k off lol lack of commitment from the dog on the cases ive seen. Any real reason to be rude? Or are you 14 and it's par for the course? How many decent lurchers will 'jack' as in, refuse to run or tackle rabbits? And in comparisson, how many will refuse to tackle a fox or deer (pre ban) ? There are plenty of dogs out there that even brought up well dont work how the owner wants. By that I mean pulling up at hedges, running half hearted on rabbits it doesnt think it can catch etc etc. If a dog exhibits traits which the owner doesnt like then to many that is a cull. There seems to be this belief that just becasue a dog chases and catches rabbits it has made the grade as a rabbit dog..... ive seen dogs 4/5 years old just up stick and refuse to run rabbits,fit experienced dog aswell,it happens alot more than whats bouncing round the head of ideatation,to much of a good thin

its not about recognition mate its just testing the dog,,, people who think numbers dont count are deluding themselvs,,, cos weather its a bull x, coursing dog , or lamper,,,, you would buy a pup of, parants that had done the biz, that could be 6 out of 6, regular, or 200 fox a season, or 50 60 bunnys a night .. well done shaun,, and gaffer I agree mate, i wasn't aiming that at shaun, just in general. To be fair i didn't have much of a point haha.

Personally I think he saw the thread and then went out to graft his dog as much as he could........nothing wrong with that. Fairplay, not my hares, my dog, or my land, so it ain't my buisness how he kills them, as long as there is no uneccessary cruelty (obviously). And like i said, dog is obviously skilled and fit, and the owner has put in the time and effort, so good on them both. Still, it will get some folk out desperatly trying to do 13/14, so they can stick a post up that's '1 better'. And there are some situations where it's not the test of the dog, it's the numbers that

Got no problem with it all, and the dog is obviously fit etc. And good to put work in front of it. But just don't get going out for a big number to see if you can rival someone elses internet claim, so that you will get recognition?

To be honest most we've had is 1 or 2. Ferrets seem to always pull out their eyes and force them out. . . .

I guess it all depends on a lot of factors - If you run rabbits, chances of getting a jacker are pretty low to non existant i would think. Fox, pre ban, you will obviously have some that just won't do it or are poor at it, and if that was the dogs purpose then . . . . There is also a difference between culling a dog that has 'jacked' or failed, and culling a dog that has not made the level that you wished in the time you wanted, based upon some internet forum yard stick.

never said that but if you don't deal with them you cant be accused of racial assault whilst persuading them to cough up!! Only guy who tried to short change me on an alarm job was in his 70's, white, well to do and owned two factories. Left envelope short of a tenner and wasnt surprised when i said it was short??? Most asians keep work with other asians anyway and only use whites as a yardstick.....have better things to do with my time... I wasn't suggesting you were mate, but there was a running theme (and that WAS said earlier). You get pricks of all colors, and like you said, -
