    dont know if its universal but this has been a hard year for me money wise booked a holiday when i could afford it! and by the time i got back i couldnt! fuel pump on me van, mot, and alternator = over 2 grand WTF does computerized fuel pumps achieve other the shafting you??? great to hear that members on here help each other out . fair play mick an hope it goes well andy! is it me or has this forum started to pick right up?? i had nearly gave up the ghost here but all of a sudden it seems a better place.

    you know it ! hooking a speedboat is the exact words i have used to describe them! funny how its best at night in fresh an i have all ways hooked em in daylight in salt! i have had em right in dangling in the air after a 20 min scrap ! and you can see the elongated hole in the scissor of the jaw just before the shake when they drop off!

    i only hunt i take the odd kneeler but am more confident lying down with me hand rested on a some thing. i dont really stalk i am more your lying down can of cider wait em out with the dog type of guy! (old an lazy) leave the standing shots to the young pros an ex military types. ha ha

    i reckon its the hold on the front to far down it goes to pot! i find holding it closer to the trigger is best! no bloody idea why its just cusit is ha ha

    right now just because you mentioned "slow cooker" you have got me started! a month back i bought an old "prestige pressure cooker" remember them! £2.50 new seal a fiver it does the 8 hour job of a slow cooker in 20 mins. you could put a pair of boots in it for 40 mins and they would melt in your mouth. a forgotten art!

    well you you put em in the fridge in brine and they are red in the morning the brine is red and the rabbit is pale pink. so it does some thing.

    my 177 prosport loves daystate li's ! but the rifle is very hold sensitive, if i am not consistent neither are my groups. its v-mached.

    my missis just read a book "a field full of butterflies" wrote by one of the penfolds , a local gypsy family that settled here and did a scrap metal yard, they reckon to soak rabbit in milk over night! my self i soak in salt water to draw out the blood and urich acid as all ready stated. as for pheasant ..... well if my dog wont eat it neither will i!

    good thread this. i am hanging on to my 410 as it is a great tool! i have permission to shoot on my allotment from the allotment society chairman but would not want to be heard or seen doing it by the bulk of others down there. when i build my deluxe shed i intend to kip there and bait and shoot rats and woodys at dawn. so i need a quiet rifle. but for the 2 or 3 rabbits on a sunny evening on my proper perms its the pro all day long.

    they both have a place! the pcp is more business and the springer more pleasure. if you have a serious number of pests to control that silent, multi shot, easy loading, is for sure a real help. but on the other hand if you just want a few for the pot and a nice time well the simple springer is a great tool! easy to maintain and tune to your own requirements, and in my mind makes you think a bit more about the hold and the shot you are taking. i reach for the pro every time but the 410 is still worth hanging on to.

    yeah i can live with that! its when he spots one that i deem a bit on the small side and hacks off wasting the previous 35 minute wait. better than the tv though all the same.

    o yeah good group. to be honest apart from the breaking cover to load and multi shot option they kind of make pcps a lot of hassle for nothing. (cat among pigeons)
