  1. Im not an anti by any means but i have my opinions about deer coursing and those that know me respect that. I agree it is one of the oldest sports and any hunt with hounds has its beauty and savagery, but i beleive its not the hut that repels me its killing of what in my opinion is a beautiful animal, and up here there are only a few about and i would like to see a few more. i hunt for sport and a bit of banter i kill a few rabbits by ferreting, bushing or shooting and thats enough for me, hunting isnt my job its a hobby, i love my dogs and some days more than the kids, i have a lot o
  2. nothing hard about taking deer a decent sized game dog will do it no problem, apart from that it must be one of the most cruel uses of dogs. i have no time for it or people who do it. i have never been into hare coursing but have run a few in my time and it takes a helluva dog to give a good show on a fit hare in small fields with law given. ive taken a few but my dogs are rabbit dogs and a hare course used to be the equivalent of six rabbits so there was no point. my hare chasing days were pre ban by about ten years, if i see a hare in a field i will leash the dogs these days its just
  3. does anyone use a thumb stick for a standing shots?
  4. Went straight from work to my colleagues 6 acres. it was teeming with rabbits young and old. i shot 10 just walking around the perimeter. sorry no pictures i dont know how to do the camera to computer thing or autopsy report phantom but there were holes and blood, phantom. a lot of young ones up to 3/4 grown but this wasnt about sport the lad is desperately trying to sort the grazing out for his horses. it has been weedkilled and topped and there isnt a lot of grass on it and the rabbits are causing chaos and thats before he re seeds. my shooting was decidedly average and unfortuna
  5. Very sad, lessons learned though mate, and laying guilt and blame on anyone is pointless. Regards Keith

  7. What was that video for?? was it a promo to sell pups or to convince me that his old dog bless her was still a good worker?? As fence hopper said all my dogs will flush pheasant (and next doors chickens). but my dogs retrieve their rabbit (In the case of the saluki x retrieve may be too strong a word he just sort of looks at it and then at me) a bit of shenanigans going on me thinks

  12. Take it back and get your money, its not fit for purpose and he cant ignore your legal rights, the initial contract was with him not bsa. this is the only way to deal with this matter otherwise you will end up in chew with bsa and the shop owner
  13. its just a matter of time, it might just be slow in maturing but showing another dog catching and killing usuallt sparks something

  15. Well done Si, ive been hanging around pubs drinking for years and so far the beer drinkers guide has not approached me for my opinions
  16. ive seen little uns, ive seen big uns, ive seen fat uns and thin uns, they have been fast and slow, but they are just ferrets. i dont know if the micro ferrets work or not but i wouldnt have thought they would move a determined rabbit. ive read all sorts about greyhound ferret but ive never had anyone up here claim to own a strain ever but then again a ferret is a ferret, and people never used to rave about their abilitys. if they worked all well and good if they didnt they were given away or sold. most times the popularity of an animal ruins its working ability, i like my ferrets and

The price of fame Si, Dont take it seriously mate. The work you do is excellent and you have helped many people why let a piss taker ruin it. i look forward to your next video mate. regards Keith
  23. i have seen a lot of show stuff that are really aggressive with people and dogs, and i have seen kerrys that are really tall like an airedale. if you just wanted a fox dog in ireland then a first x would probably do the job well they seem to have that do or die terrier mentality and a 3/4 bred would be fast enough for other stuff. But they would be b*****ds around other dogs this is probably why they arent used as much as the wheaton, spoke to a lady this morning and she had a wheaton pup she told me there are three distinct types of wheaton now im not sure if she meant just their co
