  3. i think have said this before on here but its good for anyone with a young dog who doesnt have a farmer etc to help stock break there pups. basically most of the meadow and pasture and moorland type nature reserves (wildlife trust own a lot) have a small herd of grazing sheep and cattle, (they are used for conservation grazing to keep meadows etc as they should be). no farmers to worry about and a handy tool for breaking your dogs to sheep my local one even use highland cattle too. blackamoor for anyone in the sheffield area. but stay away from them big deer! lol

  9. long shot but here goes.... i belong to a very good syndicate north lincs and i could guest someone onto it (during the week) very good carp water although not really in winter, lots of medium to good pike, cracking silver fish too. also i have a lot of drains and rivers on another book which i can guest people that are great for a bit of piking, check out my post in the fishing section 'winter quest complete' and see for yourself whats in there. also if anyone fancies some barbel fishing we got a lot of stretches of the trent, tidal and non tidal, with some very large barbel present. i kn

  13. they imo a bit of road work would help strengthen the pads and keep the nails down but if they are weak I'd look into the dogs diet do plenty road work his pads are ok, doesnt really have problem with them, his diet is quite good, mix of raw, veg, pasta, bones once weekly, egg twice a week, and markus muhle dry complete (very good food, not heat treated kibble). maybe its just in his breeding i dunno Maybe it's low on vitamin h or could have a bacterial infection in the nails? How bad are the nails? they dont seem bad until he breaks one, they just seem to break eas

  16. if its only old enough to just be house trained mate i wouldnt be getting her to jump, or at least not something high or often lots of strain on young joints. plenty time for that later, if anything concentrate on sit, stay recall but just as play nothing serious just yet. bonding with pup more important at this stage IMO
  17. you got any pics mate? does she live inside or kenneled and is she good with other dogs?
  18. fox shit is the worst, my dog loves it! rolls in it everytime, last time i was stood next to him and i saw him look down, he clocked it, i clocked it, i knew what he was thinking, looked at me, 'no' and by the time the word had left my lips he's face planted straight into it! shout some obsenities at him and hes back up, i look down to see if he got it, cant see where the shit was at all, look back at dog and the whole log is stuck to side of his face, dirty little bastardo!
  19. get yourself out on a charter boat from that area mate, good fishing at minute and they can provide the tackle most of the time, be cheaper than buying a full set up and you 'll probably catch more
  20. good fishing down there mate, i want a trip down before the winters out, not too far from me really
  21. blue comes everwhere with me, fishing, mooching, walking, collecting wild food/wood, even go lamping sometimes, lol. so for me a coat is a must, do lots of pike fishing thru winter especially and without a coat he just gets shivery and miserable. my old retriever never needed one, rain snow or anything, but not all lurchers have big thick coats, perhaps the type you like/keep does, but not all do and as such coats are nessecary for a lot, unless you just keep them kenneled or inside all the time unless they out walking or working but to me a lurcher is a companion for most of my activities, a
