They are all still alive and doing well and i know they are full of food because one shit all over me yesterday..
And here is the goldie's one of the chick's was rescued from the aviary floor and much smaller than the other..they are both the same size
now..
I am the world's worst for allowing such things to happen,...the joke is,..I can always see it coming, from afar,..but I still insist on standing on that live rail, until the lecky hits me... Much of my problem is laziness, pure and simple...and it is oh so easy, to fall in with guys that you know are basically, chancers and users..
It is convenient to jump aboard and tag along with folk, that in reality,..ain't really your kind of people.
Back in the day, I would stick with tried and tested hunting partners,.men who,.like myself were no angels and same as me, could be touchy and had their
I have been shit on and messed about all my life from so called friend's but i still come back for more.. how far would you go before you call it a day ..
Folk say they only breed once per year.. if the food source is good they breed more than once..i was catching young small moles in january so god know's how many time's per year they really breed
You could get that in the day time after a few hour's where i have been setting trap's.. they are like flea's at the moment..but i'm sure the dog won't complain come October..
I know what you mean, also "rolfe" ,and a few others.I think the final straw for "moley" was a mods attitude,(personality clash ,or whatever) I know for a FACT, a few of the 'moderators' ,are extremely disliked, but i dont think its right to blame them, for everything.Im aware the mods can be wrong,on occasion, but on the whole they are usually 'fair' with everyone. You also have to recognise,it cant be an easy job for them,on here. ps (Please correct me if im wrong,Moley. LOL)
There seem's to be a fair few good genuine decent folk not posting anymore especially in the trapping section..
I have never heard anything good about the stuff from experienced lad's in the poultry game but apparently i don't know what i'm talking about when i say it does not work..
These are two very good people in there chosen field.. what i would like to know what is stopping them from posting on this site anymore..there input was interesting and quite valuable to a lot of member's..
What are you poultry folk's views on the stuff for getting rid of red mite..i know of several knowledgeable friend's in the poultry world that say it's a waste of money and it does not work..from personal experience over the past year i also think it's a pile of shite..
I went through quite a bit of the stuff using a few different type's but all that i seen happen was the red mite multiplying.. i could actually see them walking around in the powder which had no effect on them at all..
I also filled my aviary bird's nest's with the stuff but they still got full of Red Mite.. i never had this
They sure are tidy and i do like the idea of them for a sparsely populated aviary.. but i do think they could be dangerous to the bird's in a well populated aviary..
Have a little read of this i don't know how true it is but it makes sense..

I have seen such a thing several time's a change in diet can solve the problem if it's diet related..but if it's a allergy a vet will have to do a little test to find out what he/she is allergic too.. i have seen a terrier that lived on a farm with bald patches that would pop up during the warmer monthes... and believe it or not she was allergic to wheat mite.. not good when you live on a farm..
What i have found Pete is only the hen will sit the egg's.. the cock bird will periodically go and feed the hen on the nest .. when the egg's hatch both parent's will feed the chick's.. ..well mine do anyway..
