    Out of curiosity Rio how come he can't heat treat it ? The blade it's self is a file which I asume isn't stainless steel...only the welds were stainless steel.theres loads of videos on YouTube of knives been made from files and all been heat treated....I don't mean this to sound cocky as I'm not been cocky just wondering why he can't heat treat it ..cheers.... Edited to say only just seen grits post in response tot not been stainless

    Well finaly got round to trying my skills at knife making lol I gave blade a forced patina shaped it alittle then set it in a antler handle. I'm going to wrap the end of the handle where the handle and blade meat with raw hide ...gone for a mountain man kinda look lol.

    I used take a mates son out shooting with a 410 and my lamp but also used to use just a torch also. Thing is with 410 is a decent torch will be enought for a 410 due to lack of range. Just hold the torch in 1 hand and then rest the 410 cross your wrist ( like how American police hold a torch and gun at same time ) and shoot away. No kik of a 410. Done it loads time with no mither. ...or there are plastic adapters or gun lamps that you can purchase relatively cheep only thing is with a gun lamp fasternd to the barrel is your waving a loaded gun around trying to spot things in beam ...atb

    My old man has a roller pigeon kit box that he's parting with as it's just coverd up at his allotment it is roughly 4ft wide 4ft high and 3 ft deep I told him instead of parting with it to put it up and I'd buy some canaries or finches to put in it for my old dear as a presnt It has a meshing floor on it ,it has 3 solid sides and solid roof and on the front there is a door with opens then a mesh front behind it..how many birds could fit ini t comftably ?? And what's best species to get cheers

    A big area of the dales has hardly any rabbits.....even there the rabbits have been getting less and less. Sure, there's pockets of them where there's loads, but i think we'll see even these contract and vanish over the next decade...
