  6. i said that to him but he said that he catches fox with his terriers and the dog is VERY good at everything else this is what the problem is ? he is going to think about it but i think i wouldnt take the dog.
  7. my friend has been on the look outfor a dog for a while now he ideally wants a fox dog to accompany him when he out with the terriers.now the hard part.he has been offerd a dog that is very good on rabbits hares and deer but will NOT take fox due to a run in with one as a young dog he has never really tried on them. he will run them but will just not tackle them . . . what wouldyou do ? takethe dog and accept its never going to do what he really wants OR keep looking for a pup ?

  11. agree with you there mate i probabley wouldnt ferret without a lurcher these days . . . i also have a goodterrier but ifi had to choose lurcher all the way . . . the only time i chosethe terrier is when we are ferreting near farm building . . . she soon sorts the rats out. the lurcher will kill rats but its the terriers job to me

I suppose I just wondered what were the legitimate pitfalls in letting her 'look for rabbits'....and I wouldn't say I know everything...just trying to explain how the dogs are when they're out and about. It's good to hear what others think....I like to learn more about stuff. But we don't go out specifically 'to hunt'...we walk, sit, take photographs....have a picnic down by the river if the weather is nice and stuff like that.
