  1. This vid shows accuracy is more important then power. I can drop rabbits with my .177 tx200hc 12ftlb and they simply roll on there side and there leg sometimes twitchs. none of this jumping and spinning around. Im sure most of you would agree accuracy is more important as long as you have enough power to kill humanly. Although the extra power dose help with range.
  2. Have be busy but these are 2 pic of 2 hunts i have done resently. Shot my my tx200hc .177 Trust me to put pics up in fire arms section Sorry please check out pics there.

  6. Thanks simon. But i supose this new permition will be animal free in a fue hunts its that small. Im sure they would all just move to the next field along.
  7. Nice one mate. And i know what you mean about people who complane about to many animals when the only have a hand full.
  8. Hi lads i got a new permition. Its small only about the size of 2 football pitchs, Its a back garden of a wealthy family who are having problems with animals sh*ting all over the place and eating there home grown vegetables. They complane about the rabbits more then anything but i have only seen one who sported me setting up my hide and that was it. Although the pigeions were not so shy and started landing about 75 yard away (to far to shoot). My first kill was a rook that landed at 41 yard. I gave it an inch holdover And that was lights out. The second kill was a squirrel at 35 yard eating so
  9. Sounds like a good day. Have you tryed looking at the floor and were you see the most bird sh*t under trees is normaly where the roost is. If you have shot on this permition for a long time The birds mabe sused and have changed roost off your permition. All the best PH1
  10. Hi mate i use .177 and .22 Although i have found .177 to kill Strait away. but with head shots and head shots only birds flap more, because u distroy less of the brain so more neves are acctive. i find that the .177s kill better with chest shots due to the pellet flighing straiter in side the boady and .22 deflects in side so its harder to hit the hart. With all due respect i know your a much more experenced hunter then i. but when shooting pigeions and rabbets you can clip the brain and animal can still fly a fue feet, but hit the core of the brain it dropps strait away. When shooting a .22 y
  11. Good Thread, I'm particularly interested in your theory that Rabbits die quicker than birds. I have in the past cleanly (Head/Heart) shot quite a few Pigeons at around 25-30m that seemed to flap for quite a while, though obviously dead. My thoughts are that with the .22 pellet passing through thin bone at a relatively high velocity the internal trauma is 'minimised', However with rabbits the pellet is striking a comparitively thicker bone structure and taking more of the bone mass through the brain, causing far greater trauma and an instant death. My logic here is that if you shoot at a ba

  15. I was talking to some one who said rats are every were, (you are never more than 3 ft away from one). Although while out and about i have never seen a rat apart from in cages or farms. Is this saying bull s**t or are the rats invisable Thanks PH1

  18. Thanks for the info redeye. But dont understand the hole idea of the lb draw what is that equal to in ftlb and surly it should be alot higher for deer. Do they make cleen kills. Im asking all these questions because i was invited bow hunting with my friend in the usa, and only want to go if i can achieve cleen kills. Thanks Ph1
  19. Hi lads was talking to a mate of mine who moved over to the states. He says people shoot small game with a crossbow with 80lb draw. That dose not sound much! They even shoot foxs with it! Is it just me or is this way underpowerd. If im wrong please correct me. Thanks PH1 P.S the reason i put this in this section is i am sure some of you will bow hunt deer.
