you lads are a being bit narrow minded if you think the lads that run the fen regular dont run anywhere else small fields with hedges fences rushs are where my dogs are brought up and ran ...and are run or should i say ran.. in between going down the fens .....very classy dog was lucky a good run too...

yes i would ..i wouldnt have the pup with me on the slip if i didnt think it wouldnt be up to it ...i would pick my place to make sure the pup wouldnt get dragged about ..if it missed it then i would give it a bit longer before i tried it again ...and if it caught it i would still lead it up and make sure the pup goes home with a bit more confidence .......to much to soon can fook a young dog ...but they also have to learn ....and like some folk said the time of year comes seriously into the equation ...

Its been far too long since a snoopdog post has discussed the old length of rope again ive proved it twice 1 hour 60lb of fresh meat on the table ..me and a lad of here split up he took his dog and a lamp we met up after an hour he came back with nothing and i was struggling to carry mine ... and 50 quid up to... ....

you dont need ferrets dogs guns snares ..none of them.. i can feed a family of 6 with a decent length of rope...

have you run here hares in ireland? its not easy. mind you, seen a first x saluki hound take a good few hares. id say, what your saying makes sence. reckon if a fen pup was brought up here it would learn if it did not give up first! blue one thats a good clip similar to land i run my dogs on. like i said in my post above ..no i have never run hares in ireland and i certainly dont think their easy.. . what i am saying is theres plenty of line bred saluki lurchers with at least 3/4 sal in them that will do the job on any size land ....saluki,s have very good speed and a good one will know

mmmmmmmm ..ERUDITE .... " well-instructed learned " a new one for me Chalky ...

that land could half a mile of me blue one ...its no different ,,like i say a dog will adapt if given the right chances ....and it killed it under 2 mintues .. if that was near me that would be one of the longer coursers.. when i mooch local ..some do exceed 2 mins but rarely....good little run....
-
why do you think to much saluki makes them slow ??...theres lads who have line bred saluki lurchers ..with a very high percentage of saluki in them that run small hilly rough reedy land ..and do well on that sort of terrain...a good dog will adapt to the type of land it runs on ...if its run on it enough times to learn ..on the sort of land your talking about a course will very rarely exceed 2 minutes so a good dog will keep the pressure on and stick tight to its hare knowing it may be lost if it gives it that extra yard....on the other hand the same dog can be running a hare on big land and

Also, more importantly, are the qualities Buddy throws into his pups that you cannot see.... Surely Buddy is one of the top producers of the modern time? some say he was dread and some say he was nothing special..to many lieing fookers in the game ...but he is supposed to be throwing decent stuff... was buddy a good dog himself ?

cracking litter ... ..

lol ....thats the real world iam affraid A ...me iam with jigsaw on this one ..no question no ifs or buts i would ring the lad up and give it back ....but i would exspect a drink of the lad ....

its a fine line... if your running the faster quarry full on running through bick wall types they will miss alot more then they will catch..but then again to much brain can be the fall of what was once a good dog when it was younger ..because youth can drive them on and as they grow older more wise with age they can think to much .....and then the inevitable can happen ....like i say its a fine line ....good brain with a big heart is what i would choose ...

did that khan ebery breed to bitch in belfast 2 pups for sale saying that he is the sire both 14 months I know the litter these two came from. If you search back through the posts you'll see a pic of a saluki dog called Buster which was bred by John Lennon out of a daughter of his famous old bitch, Star and Khan Jihad. This was about 5 years ago and long before his present, or previous owner had Khan. My pal Collie and I each brought a pup home with us to Northern Ireland from one of our stays with John. In the summer of 2009 I arranged a mating between Buster and the Willow bitch that

Illegal yes its illegal but i remember when i was ferreting once i caught a netted rabbit i pulled its neck and put it in a bag and did this with the next four i caught ...i then walked about a mile away from where i was orignally ferreting ..i made a few mistakes that day one was not pulling the necks of the rabbits properly and the other was the hole in the bag which i was carrying the rabbits in...anyway i had a young dog with me that day and you would never belive it one of the rabbits dropped out about ten yards of the the young dog ..because the rabbit was on unfamilular ground it did

Huntinglife for hunting lurcher people only?
snoopdog replied to baldockbanks courser's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
but youv still got an intrest in hunting with lurchers. its the people who only crop up when say a rescue post or show post comes up. Then look down there nose at people like myself who keep dogs outside in kennels and use them purley as hunting companions. Get a grip or better still get out with your dog and stop bitching The dogs are having a night off. Dont worry about me getting out i bet iv caught more rabbits in the last two weeks than youv slipt your dogs on in there life. In your dreams fuckwit! :wankerzo4: ..its these threads that keep me chuckling ..
