well i will start with saying i havent got a dog that will catch decent numbers on a golf course ..but the few i have run i would say if you get a five second run on them you have had a good run ..i think you need a dog that dosnt go rushing in because they will lose vital ground from the begining ..bad move......a dog with a quick turn of pace and an exseptional mouth is requiered....like someone said they can go like fook ...its a good crack when you see the bunnies legs going so fast there just a blur .... ....but it isnt just golf courses where you get bunnies like that ,,,,ive been on we

fitness is EVERTHING ,,, you can jog them behind a bike ,,you can put them on a mill you can walk them for miles but all your doing is getting it ready for the real thing,,, because nothing will get your dog running fit only running them on the quarry you choose ,,,because thats when they will push themselves more then ever before..jog to much or tread mill to much then your will leave the best of your dog on one of them above .......the reason we jog or what other methods people use is to get them ready ...for example ....a boxer can spar and train till hes blue in the face ...but when hes in

i enjoy just a mooch about on the bunnies ..it makes a change from running the big land and lamping ...i go as much as i can which is not often enough because running the big land is where i normally go.. and lamping through the week so my times pretty much taken up ....i will be doing alot more over the xmas hols inbtween the coursing ...i remember last year i did over two thousand miles last xmas hols....on the whities up scotlamd down the fens and lamping .....but i can honestly say mooching about is the most relaxing part of hunting off the all...its arse cleching stuff down the fens...b

i was just wondering how you lads do when your just bushing ..mooching about on the bunnies no bolting or ferreting just walking the fields daytime ... what sort of numbers do you average .......and what sort of dogs do you use to get these numbers....cheers all the best snoop.....

whats with all the girly tunes ... i was a regular vister of the angels and carlos..the orbit at leeds and many many many more clubs...some of the best times of my life ... women dancing with hardly fook all on and some of the best drugs theres ever been ..... them where the days the hacienda...i cant remember half the clubs but we went allover the counrty in the 90,s . loved every mintue of it too......ha ha ha

i think people use the word stamina wrongly .or maybe not ..theres a big difference between be able to recover quickly from one short run after another ,,that is mostly down to fittness ,,,,for an egxample lets say 30 bunnies .could these dogs with stamina in them run three 4 min hares,,,???... then theres is STAMINA ....be able to run hard for over 3 min,s . maybe its two different sorts of stamina .... ....for e.g somthing with a 1/4 of saluki in it just isnt enough to cut it on the the big land ..if you no what i mean.... ....

how many people who have commented on saluki,s or dogs with a high percentage of saluki in them have actually seen a good one run or owned one,,, fook me they are one of the most intelligant runners there is.,,,, in small fields they keep on the pressure and stick tight, they no there not going to be in for the long haul and try to force the hare into making a mistake ..the same dog gets a hare on open land and does just what he needs to...e,g it runs as fast as the hare,,,,not trying to smash it at every oppertunity ....and if there an obsticle ..eg game crop....the dog will put its self in -

you seem to have taken my reply to heart young man....maybe you should chill a little bit ...and learn to laugh.... what answer did you exspect .....???..i dont no you from adam...you ask a question like that and say you want to see how your dogs will react ... get yourself out more with the dogs and you will come across what you are looking for .....if you have caught plenty of rabbits and had a shine round you after you have caught one or two there will be one watching you somewhere ...learn to chill..

sit low in the middle of the field so your outline dosnt stand out keep real quite make sure your dogs are behind you and your lamp and the in a low tone start calling here foxy here here foxy ...if nothing turns up the call a little louder ...HERE FOXY POO,S HERE HERE FOXYS POO,S ...if you still dont see any ..the in my opinion there none about....

like to watch myself ...never entered my head how to kill one.... infact i had a tear in my eye when i thought rocket dog was going croak it.... ,,my lad said if its face and neck gets any fatter with that snake bite...it going to choak.....he said why dont they take it off dad....

i hunt bunnies all year round ....theres enough breaks in the year when its to hot or the grounds like bell metal......and i will keep on doing so ....in the summer months i mooch about allover the place ....but i will say theres plenty of rabbits..maybe if there wernt i would give them a break......

in most cases why people get mmmmmm..lets call them not so good lurchers... is because they dont do there homework on the parent,s before they purchase a pup....some just dont make the grade i agree... but if you do your homework..and get the type of lurcher for the type of terrain and type of quarry your going to run your halfway there...just my humble opinion..... .....

tobys dam was kim the saluki....nobody can verify weather she was a pure ..not that it matters.....and the sire was joe ....joe is seagull x cruise of shildon.....very decent runner by accounts ......

i use this russel...hes spot on ...hes got a bit of a bad habit of finding them long ears....and with my dogs running free most of the time when iam mooching local the odd accident happens no matter who much i try to call them off.... this bunny kept very still... till it blinked...

i will start again if you havent a roof on your run outside then try partly covering it or cover all of it ....would you go outside in the pissing rain and wind ....and to be honest i dont think a heat lamp will help.. to warm for them at this time of year ...two dogs can keep each other warm.. i never put a heat lamp in mine ...i just have a smaller box inside the kennel .. with plenty of bedding and when it gets colder i hang a blanket over the entrnce to the box aswell as the main hole to the kennel ...that should be enough to keep any dog warm.....i not saying theres anything wrong a
