  1. Yea I get that, and it's true. But, fact is, that animals will use the same pathways as people. Setting snares for fox's and you need to be careful not to create a second pass from walking past your snare when checking. Also, in US and Canada, trappers often point out in the snow, where a Wolf or Lynx has been following the trapper. Nothing wrong with going off the beaten track. In USA though, you'd want to know where your going. People have been shot dead pulling into the wrong driveway, and I've seen video's where people have been threatened for been on the wrong side of the bank, whil
  2. f***ing hell lad, you wouldn't want to ignore signs like that over there, unless you want to come home early. Off the beaten track, Yes, nice to explore, but also remember the beaten track, is where a lot of animals tend to use as travel ways, just like us humans. Even when yer out hunting land that ya know, you'll most likely use the same gateways, gaps, jump streams same place etc etc.

  4. So the outcome of the evidence, showed no real evidence of their existence?
  5. I think even China has their own Big Foot. Same thing, but with squinty eye's.
  6. They way it was acting, I think it was actually a Sas-squat.
  7. I think even the most famous big foot images were proven to be a hoax. The idea of the existance of bigfoot, came from a North American Indian tribe. They believe in the existance of a large hairy creature, they called Sasq'ets, which means (hairy man). The myth was then passed onto white settlers, who spread the story far and wide.

    Bedbugs.

Reminds me when we were young. Back in the 80's, we lived near a local dump, and the houses were always full of flies in the summer. Broke more ornaments chasing the b*****ds with tea towels

    Bedbugs.

My wife and little one is in Disneyland. One big show was cancelled the other day, because of a bedbug outbreak at the venue. Strangely, the venue was reopened the very next day I've asked her to look for signs in their room etc. Check creases in mattress, and for red blood dots on the sheets. I'm half thinking if dumping their luggage when they get home.
  10. We'd keep the odd pike around five or six pound. They made for good eating. Bones and removing scales was a bit of a pain. Meant to be a method to removing bones, but never mastered it.
  11. I'm sure I saw carp fir sale in Tesco last Christmas. Seemingly, it's the norm for Polish to have it for Christmas dinner.
  12. Wasn't it Hugh Fernley Whittingstall that had the carp in the bath?
  13. FRIDAY came from the pagan godess FREYA. The sacred symbol for Freya was a fish, so people ate fish on a Friday to honour her. Modern religions stole this tradition, like many others, to push out paganism, and convert the masses.
  14. Was chatting a Polish girl one time. She told me how they cook coarse fish. They boil it up, and then strip the meat off the bone. They then use it like we use minced meat. Add sauces, herbs, spices etc. Often wondered how they could eat stuff like tench, carp etc.
  15. I've eaten many a perch when I was a young lad. Makes for lovely eating. White meat, and chunky like cod. We'd skin them, (very easy do with a perch) and cut off fins with a scissors. Fry on the pan in butter, or dip in batter, and fry in oil. Also had Jack pike. Bones are a b*****d, but tasted great. Best I had was on a BBQ,, at my brother in laws. Not sure what he had on it, but definitely some lemon. Had many an eel, and they are superb, but got to be wriggling on the pan, and tried roach once. The roach tasted like dirt. When it comes to pike and perch, they must come fr
  16. Any chance you'll get out with someone for a day on a trap line or hunting etc?
  17. Will you be there for the Winter lad?
  18. Seemingly ( according to some lad on youtube) the tree can grow back to a proper tree, and live for another three or four hundred years. Lifespan of a sycamore is four hundred years at best, so not the worst outcome. Well that's if they don't end up digging up the stump
  19. Maybe it has something to do with the parent bird/animal, more so than the chick/cub. Like a sick, or stressed dog, that kills its pups.
  20. Bears are fairly sloppy, when it comes to killing things
  21. Yea I get that, but I think truth be told, we do feel a little anger or sympathy at times, seeing nature do what it naturally does. Be it a magpie eating the eye's out of a lamb, or a mink taking a nesting Moor hen. It is only nature, bit can certainly hit a nerve.
  22. Are they thin on the ground over there lad? I don't think we have any here
