  1. Was actually on the Suilven in '93 l think it was coming home from a primary school trip in similar weather and about 90% of the passengers and some of the crew were sea sick and we nippers who weren't seasick had to run around with sick bags for everyone. Great fun at the time and we never thought of the danger at all and the 10% of the passengers that were not sea sick apart from my mates and l were boozers at the bar lol cheers Callum
  2. I have had one of them 2 years but was lucky enough that they managed to sow me back up after the operation as if they can't they leave a huge hole in your backside which literally takes months to heal. Mine was caused by an ingrowing hair between the arse cheeks which the followed the curve of my spine upwards before exciting about 5 inches above the first hole. For anyone brave enough watch the video below , I did before my operation which made me brick it even more as l was just about to start my second year in college and was told that if they left open the post op wound l would miss half

  9. I,m certainly Not A S.N.P. lackey,And I defer to even comment on Wee Eck !,but I will confirm it is Taught in Schools all over Scotland. One of the Biggest Gaelic medium schools(one that only teaches and speaks Gaelic until P3.when they are taught English) is In the Heart of Glasgow.Nursery,Primary and Secondary, and run classes for adult learners, the central belt has if not more Speakers than the Highlands .Contray to" Geek Pill " it isn't a dying Language kept for special occasions, but a healthy and vibrant one that is spoken by more of the populace than in days gone bye;It has stood the time
  10. After having read of a Blue Shark that had been found washed up on the Isle of Lewis last week see: http://www.hebrides-news.com/blue-shark-on-lewis-5911.html I started reading on the sightings of great whites seen/ supposedly seen off the coast of Great Britain. A lot of these sightings are even from around the Western Isles which is food for thought. What do you guys reckon? As a footnote l thought this articles made interesting reading: http://www.wildlifeonline.me.uk/british_carcharodon.html cheers Callum
  11. Thats really cool its amazing how many of these old weapons from the WW2 era are found underground. Workmen on the lsle of Lewis have uncovered grenades and petrol bombs that were buried after the war by the home guard but then the out of sight out of mind philosophy was strong then. cheers Callum That cannon's way older than WW2, Callum, it's more like Napoleonic War era. Brilliant find though. I wasn't 100% sure to be honest mate as naval guns similar to this were situated in remote areas during the two world wars, St Kilda and the Isle of Lewis being examples but on looki

  15. I was in the 2nd Gaelic medium primary school class in Scotland back in the 80's so am a native speaker and tbh l don't think its is too hard to learn. It also depends on the level you want to the learn the language at. Nowadays with this new wave of Gaelic with it being on the radio and having its own television channel there is a multitude of new words being added to update the language to the extent that even the old boys who know the language inside out have difficulty understanding! Just to add as with any language as Bogger obviously has learn the rude and dirty words first!
