  1. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3628322/Drunk-intruder-video-goes-viral.html I've been in some states but never this bad! cheers Callum
  2. It's not always possible to do this if you've come in from shooting in cold weather (most of the year in Scotland). The gun needs to be allowed to come back to room temperature (out of sight and action removed of course), before storing, to prevent issues with condensation Noticed your also from the Western Isles mate Whereabouts do you shoot? cheers Callum
  3. I make a point of cleaning my gun after it having fired around 25 shots as l find my accuracy starts to go out the window around then. cheers Callum
  4. I suppose if he fell asleep with the intention of falling asleep and left the guns on the table then it is fair do's but l have sat in a chair before after a heavy day at work with the intention of doing something seated (not gun related) and woken up 40 odd minutes later groggy as h311 after falling asleep unintentionally! This is the kind of scenario lm wondering might have happened which if it was is just plain bad luck. Perhaps there is more to the story? cheer Callum

  6. Cant believe these two haven't been mentioned yet! "I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum - the most powerful hand gun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question--Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk!" and "Now l know why they call you dirty Harry" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnMLGkj91Og Just watch between the 2:40 mark and the 4:20 mark for this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp6QD

  10. I've suffered this problem as well and have had mixed results with putting meth soaked cotton wads down the barrel prior to shooting to eat the oil away which many believe is what causes cleaned rifles to lose their zero for up to 5 shots. cheers Callum How far out would yours go at 100 yards Before I tried the meths soaked cotton wads my rifles zero would always veer about 6 inches to the right , this is at 200 yards and its a .223 but the loss of zero when cleaning occurs with all calibres. Sometimes when l used meths soaked cotton wads my rifle was still spot on the zero afte

  12. yeh its a 1 in 12 twist.i have been buying the hornady 40 grains i found them very good i was thinking of loading the 40 grains.do you think the 55 grains are better? i have not tryed them. i will be shooting foxes I use 40 grain V-Max bullets as well as l like the lack of recoil compared to the 55's but as l have just gone and bought myself a .270 calibre rifle recoil is something I'm going to have to learn to get used to cheers Callum
  13. I find that the hardest part is studying the brass even from new for defects such as little pin holes or deep scratches. The shinier you can get your brass the easier it is to study them. This applies after having shot the brass after the first time. My rule of thumb is if the inside of a scratch or pin hole is still black even after shining light on it then l don't reload it as l deem the hole / scratch a deep one. There are plenty videos on YouTube as well and if you use bit torrent there are some very good videos that you can download as well. Most of the powder manufacturers have load data
  14. The deer hunter is an iconic film for me because as far as l know it was the first film that didn't glorify war and showed and insight into how it can change and affect people. I found it sad when you see the difference between the friends before the Vietnam war working together and how it affected each of them in different ways afterwards. Many films have tried to copy this formula since but l don't think any of them come close to this film. cheers Callum
  15. Wow the federals are expensive! I take it you got the trophy bonded bear claws at a good price. Would home loads not work out cheaper? I hope so because that's the route lm taking. cheers Callum
  16. a good policy . i enjoyed the footage. john maybe you should stick to the deer. if you cant show respect to the fox you would be better leaving that task to someone that can apart from that small observation. i enjoy your posts Thanks for your wee observation, but I like deer stalking and LOVE killing foxes, I have just zeroed my 7mm rem mag with 110gr speer TNT hollow points @ 3,600 fps. Now thats respect. cant argue with that left .223 55gr vmax.................. right 7mm rem mag 110gr TNT hp Hi John ignore the messers, l enjoy reading your posts. I fe

  18. According to the Wikipedia entry they bailed out before the plane crashed More information can be found here, interesting reading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Be_Good_(aircraft) cheers Callum
  19. One of the comments under the video said the same thing but the commentator couldn't remember the name of the film. I'm really surprised they found 8 of the 9 bodies, l would have thought they would have been covered by tonnes of sand in the duration that they lay there. cheers Callum
  20. Just watched this video just now on YouTube. Its amazing that the Liberator bomber just lay there for 16 years before being found and even more amazing that they found nearly all of the crew members bodies especially as they had all walked some miles from the crash site. Has anyone seen the full documentary or even better have a link for it? cheers Callum Ps the video below does show skeletal remains so if easily offended don't watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRzCTIO4jgo&feature=related
  21. No problem mate there are loads of crackers on Youtube
  22. Thats the full documentary on the Kee bird there mate so no need to wait. cheers Callum
  23. Maybe this link will shed some light for you Callum....Enjoy....P-38 The Glacier Girl Thanks for the link very interesting cheers Callum
  24. Dunno if it was on Sky mate l just came across it on YouTube. It was sad how the engineer died after overworking on the project, he really put his heart and soul into recovering her. The exhilaration and excitement of thinking you will actually get to watch the plane fly after 50 or so years only to watch her catch fire and get consumed was a bit of an emotional ride especially when you don't expect it but it was a cracking documentary. Another of my favourite documentaries is the one with the recovery of Glacier Girl, a P-38 Lightning from under a glacier in Greenland but can't find it on-lin
