  1. I've since spoken about this to my rfd as l was placing an order with him and he said it would be pretty difficult getting a permission letter even stating paid stalks! I also spoke to the head keeper of one of the estates on the island and he said to me that he could not give me the letter either as he stated he did not have the authority and he doubted the owner would give me a permission letter either as the owner is a very private man. He was helpful in that he gave me 4 or 5 names to try to get in touch with but no contact number to phone unfortunately. On the plus side my rfd said t
  2. No mate I really really want this rifle l found on the internet which is pretty rare and at a pretty good price. It is in .270 Winchester and my largest calibre to date is the .223 Winchester. I spoke to the woman in the firearms dept yesterday and it was like hitting a brick wall. She said the variation would take 2 months minimum, the feo would have to come round as it was a substantial increase in calibre which isn't a problem and that l would have to get letters of permission from at least one deer stalking estate as l stated to her on the phone that l wanted this calibre for deer stal
  3. OOOOH another of my absolute favs Just love its absolutely menacing shape plus the fact it can carry troops into battle.
  4. Has anyone ever gone in for a variation after seeing a gun they liked as l am in this exact position and unsure of what to do. cheers Callum
  5. Thought this was quiet funny http://grandoman.com/wp-content/gallery/week-74/grandoman_week71_25.jpg cheers Callum
  6. If it comes back again record it onto video. I love em, the best helicopter gunship in the world! It could be testing its radar, or the R.A.F. station could be testing theirs or they could be calibrating its equipment. cheers Callum
  7. Heard its like roast beef.......... Should eat beef then ! Never thought of that......i'll just nip out this afternoon and stalk into some cattle..... rules for some and rules for others.i was once told by a judge ignorance is no excuse! I believe there are a few folk on here that just dont want to see a 'beautiful swan' shot and refuse to believe that in certain places they can become a problem. I might be having a laugh about the swan tasting like roast beef, i actually haven't tasted it but i have heard from others that it does.....who am i to disbelieve... The Ju
  8. Reason I'm asking is that when l went for my FAC a year and a half ago l spoke to the Firearms Dept chief about the chances of getting a .223 explicitly for shooting geese as they are a massive pest in the Western Isles but my RFD told me it was illegal hence my confusion... cheers Callum Had a wee scout about mate and i still cant find any concrete evidence for the legality of it. Think it will be on the BASC website but never looked...someone will know on here i'm sure too... The only angle l can think of my RFD's point of thinking is the no lead projectiles on fowl but thats

  10. Just out of interest does anyone know if it is legal to shoot geese with a centerfire in Britain (Greylag) to be precise? cheers Callum
  11. If you boot your computer up as normal, insert your windows 7 dvd into your computer and when the autoplay menu pops up click on the setup option and when prompted click on the upgrade option. Your software / files should be the same , the only difference should be the operating system. cheers Callum
  12. Don't know if you have managed to download the free version by now but heres the link. http://free.avg.com/us-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free cheers Callum
  13. Just read some of the comments on this thread and l must say in a way one thing that has not changed in nearly one hundred years is that the idiots are still in charge.... As the German top brass used to say during the First World War: "A nation of lions led by donkeys!"
  14. Where abouts in the Outer Hebrides did you go mate? cheers Callum
  15. I recently started using a Tiablo A10 with my .243, and as for it being limited to 150 yards - there are already a few Foxes that might argue the fact (if they were still around!) that it's effective out to much longer ranges! Same as Kenny I use a Tiablo A10 320 Lumens??? and l have to agree you won't be disappointed if you buy one. cheers Callum
  16. Older versions of Nero were pretty good as well if l recall. They had interactive menus describing how to customize dvd menus, chapter times etc. cheers Callum
  17. And just for the record mate orangeeric wasn't calling you a div either... As halamrose stated earlier <div> is another form of a web mark-up which means division. Just thought l should point that out incase there was any ill feeling caused. all the best Callum
  18. I'm sure I've heard this song somewhere before or is it that the base is very similar to some other song? cheers Callum
  19. I used to be a supervisor in a fish factory and when the factory started employing Poles, Lithuanians, Russians, Latvians and people from other Eastern European countries through agencies l have had experience working with quiet a few immigrants. I always judge people by how they worked and one of the things that l always had a gripe with was that as soon as they had a measure of certain jobs within the factory if they didn't like it they would reply with "Sorry I not understand" to try to get out of doing the job to which l always made a come with me gesture and pointed out the job to them
  20. I have to admit that l use both bit torrent and emule but l find that when l use bit torrent the websites aren't as structured as they are for emule. I use torrentpond to search stuff for when l am using bit torrent which is linked to some of the above mentioned sites. As mentioned above ISO Hunt is a good website which is linked to in torrentpond and another l use is btjunkie which can also be found within torrentpond. A good word of advice when using torrents is to stick to torrents that have comments on them as a lot of torrents l find can be junk or full of viruses. This is why l mainly u
  21. Thanks for the info cunninghamb, from what l have read on U.S. auction sites such as GunBroker it looks like a right minefield of costs, regulations and paperwork. cheers Callum
  22. Does anyone have any experience in this as sometimes when l look at U.S. gun sites and see the multitude of guns on offer l often wonder about buying from there and importing. Just to clarify if a person were to have the correct calibre on their certificates and were fully fledged U.K. citizens. There really is next to nothing on the internet on this. cheers Callum
  23. I use ftireloaded along with a free software called emule. You have to register with ftireloaded and know a wee bit bout port forwarding through your router/modem/hub to allow the software to connect seamlessly to the internet merry xmas Callum
