Syria has become a proxy war between the Sunni States like Saudi (who are funding the so called rebels...read Al Qaeda and backed by the USA). On Assads side he has something like 10,000 Hezbollah fighters and also the Iranians have sent 4000 troops as well. It is now a war between the two main factions of Islam Sunnie/Shia and ethnic cleansing is well underway. The enemy has never been Islam it is GOVERNMENT. The policy of divide and rule has never gone away. Also greed and consumerism is the West's biggest downfall. People don't have kids because the would rather buy stuff and have holidays...to the point that the real working and middle classes aren't having enough kids to keep a healthy population.
