Not a mixer, and she will work her heart out to get there. She looks like she has leg in the picture, but she really doesn't. Mosby's seen her. She is a short stout type like all of the bitches from this line. She is one of my better strike dogs, but the years have been hard on this one. She has a rib that was broken that never set right, and now kind of pokes out. I take her brushing at least twice a week in the summer, and more often in cooler months. But she is coming up on seven and has slowed in pace a little bit. When I head up north I will bring her and her little sister along.

By wohleb12 at 2012-05-27 The mamma to the little pup, and big sister to the older one. She stays until dug to. Seen her share of badger. Been tooth to tooth with boar above. Force broke to retrieve and hunts under a gun. Fourteen inches, and under twenty pounds. They may not be anywhere near the best terriers in the world. But they get the job done for me.

It is far to easy to get sht dogs of any breed. People that need working dogs, tend to have them. Doesn't matter if they are black and tan, black or freakin purple for that matter. The basic recipie never changes much. People who need dogs that stay until dug to, will have them, or will find a way to get them. Doesn't matter if they live in the U.K. or in Hungary. Doesn't matter if they are Jagds or Fells. The same logic applies to every task required of a working dog no matter where it happens to be working. It all comes apart when people start wanting them for some other reason.

This one came from Fronc Zdeno in Slovakia. Smart as they come, but gritty. He was just a pup here, but I have an older brother and two older sisters. They all do whatever I ask of them.

By wohleb12 at 2011-12-09 No question in my mind. I use these guys for everything. They're up for whatever.

Cheers to you Alex. Hows life treatin you mister?

These terriers are just like any other..There are good and bad. Far less common are the great ones. But the percentage of honest workers is high. Nothing magical about them. The things that make you love them, will make you hate them if you can't keep them busy or busted up. Some say they make great pets.. I would rather be shot in the face. But if you feed em work they will eat it up. And it is surprising how well they behave if they get it. Can't say they are better or worse than anything else. No point in it really. They work for what I do, and that's good enough for me.

Great looking dogs man! The black looks ready for trouble, -
I haven't ever seen a better all rounder than the jagdterrier. I have imported them from nearly everywhere. Some are better feild dogs. But some are pure digging dogs. They will find fit and stay long enough to get you to praying. There are lines of NLT that are unbelievably hard. I hunt everything that moves. I have never seen another breed more perfectly suited for the type of hunting that I do. I free cast dogs. Once given the command to hunt they have to find, track, and/ or hold game until I can get there and dispatch it. I hunt boar with jagds. I use no more than two at a time. My dogs

Colorado Lion hunting with Jagdterriers

That's funny.. -
Some hunt out a pretty good ways and do not check in for thirty minutes or so. If they strike a track they can go for miles. Some stay in shotgun range. Like dogs-n-natives said it could be their last hunt every time you cut them loose. I am going to try and see what we can do in the rocks. One good thing about these dogs is that they are loud as hell. But I know some won't be coming home.

Good deal. I have one or two that fit the description.lol

The lion was killing a local rancher's calves.

That's right... I left out my buddy Jimmy Gibbs. That's a baaad man. One of these days I am gonna make a hunt with him. His dogs are famous here in the deep south. Plenty of nose and will stick with a runner. Never met a nicer guy.

Wait till you see the bear pics..lol

I know of a few. Devin Staker, Saba Mahic, and John Goke are a few that come to mind. There are plenty of others. Deven is a hound man that uses terriers for the odd task. He does allot of Coyote denning with them. All three are good guys and hunt like crazy. I bet I can think of a dozen or more that do this sort of thing. Probably even more that I don't know of. Two things we are not short on red necks, and things to chase with dogs.

Colorado Lion hunting with Jagdterriers

Even if this were true... it could be argued that nearly an equal number have been ruined. But the same could be said of many countries. In my oppinion it isn't the country as much as it is the show ring responsible for for ruining the work of our ancestors regardless of where they came from. Nahh it ain't like that. You guys on that side of the pond are the reason any of us are hunting with terriers. I was givin some of you a hard time the other day over the pit vs the staffy knowing full well that there wouldn't be one without the other. Truth be told my favorite line goes straight back to em. Jagds are the same story. You guys set a hell of a foundation. I would love to have access to some of the dogs you have on that side of the pond.lol OBTW I will be right there with you chasing those bunnies. I enjoy it as much as anything!
