  1. just thought you long net boys would like to see this. The mesh size is 2.1/4 inch and as you can see the fully grown rabbit has all but passed through the net. I am thinking of knitting up some 2inch mesh nets, any ideas or views on this? i must thank hedgehunter for taking the pics for me
  2. show me a govenment that wants power who will openly state in the run up to an ellection, that they will if they get ellected revoke the ban. it would be like shooting themselves in the political foot. mind you ,old teflon tony has done a good job of fooling us all that he knows whats best for the country. Ban lifted? never if we all sit and do nothing about it
  3. St Pierre for me folks. Take nothing away from Hughes but i feel that he has met his match this time. either way you have two very expereanced fighters in the same ring so its going to be v good to watch
  4. my mate has the dam,a nice first cross collie grey which i realy like. She isnt no show winner but work wise she is mustard, the sire is a coursing grey hound from my local meet which stands at 29 inch. The sire was running at a good level of meeting when he sired the pups. there are 3 dog pups from mine still up for grabs,6 pups have sold already and there not even a wk old yet. it makes me wonder what can you see in a dog that young to make you want to buy it? Not that i have anything against pet owners but 4 have gone to working homes, these 4 were paid for before they were even born. all new
  5. your right in what you say about raising the gun everytime, but unless you use a lamp or seperate IR monocular you dont realy have much choice. it works ok if you use a stick to steady your aim but can get heavy whilst carting it around a field. I mostly shoot out of the sunroof of a 4x4 with the driver lamping with a white light at this venue, as it allows for fast shooting. This was at a spot where they were getting twitchy when they heard a car so it was done on foot with no lights. (s!*t those cheap digi cams do nothing for your good looks do they)
  6. cant see it that clear in the pic but he is in fact a black brindle, not dark brown as he looks in the pic.his other side is almost all black. bit weird colour wise
  7. out lastnite with the rimfire, the rifle is a ruger.22 fitted with a gen1 night scope with a doubler fitted for extra mag plus a IR lamp for better target id.
  8. Hiya JOEB,sorry to hear about your dogs leg. firstly im no vet but i can speak from experiance. i wittnessed a greyhound break its leg, as it was a coursing dog the owner thought that it wouldnt be of any use so was about to put it down, cut a long story short a family friend took on the dog along with all the vets bills. this leg was plated and the dog was soon on the mend. as for will your dog work again? cant see why not. as for the grey hound, well it made a full recovery and went on to catch many rabits for its new owner, ok it limped a bit and more so as it got older, but hay, dont we all?

  21. i was once(2yrs ago) working a golf course next to a main road with some long nets, just finished putting down 200yrds when a car stopped other side of the hedge,i hit the floor and waited. next thing an other car pulled up. iwas shiting myself as i wasnt supposed to be there.3 blokes got out and walked through the hedge and stood not far from me (50yrds?), and yes you guessed it thay were in the mood for love (must stress with each other not me). I didnt know weather to s!*t, fart or leg it and feck the nets. 30mins later they f*@$ed off and left me in fear for the safety of my ring(no jokes p
  22. [i think you will find it is because the law states that we can use a gun with a power at 12ft lbs muzzle energy. so that said a smaller weight pellet would and does travel faster in order to give you an impact at tetsing range of 12ft lbs. So with that in mind you would use more air to push out a .177 pellet from the same gun in .22 I cant remember the formula to work this out so please dont hassle me over this post
  23. when you have people like those involved with this vote speaking out as they have, it makes me wonder how on earth did the ban gain such momentum in the first place? I feel that the tide of anti hunt feeling is now on the turn,ok we wont see any change instantly but you can see the underlying tones of what is hopefully going to come in the future. It warms the hunting soul when such a large body as the national trust, which lets face it is about as close to those who manage this countryside as you can get, openly through their members and the voice of people's such as vets state that it is not
  24. so it was the mushies that did it. safe trip (no pun intended) bud
