The other thing you might want to consider is the cross your having mate I don't know what your hopeing to run but for a first time lurcher you might want to consider something like a beddy whippet for rabbits or a collie grey for allrounder both easy to train bull xs can be very driven and difficult to handle although I have a bull x bitch here and she is very laid back until on quarry I also have a pup here at mo with collie and bull in it so we will wait and see but she's been a joy to train and bring on so far hope this helps atb DONK

ive settled on bitches mate i just get on better with them mate i find dogs tend to go off and do their own thing where as the two bitches i now own do everything to please me some my mates preffer dogs and ive seen some really good ones in the field i find a softer aproch is better with bitches than dogs but as i said its only my opinion and can only talk about my own opinions if i were you try a bitch not because i think their better but because you obviously have it in the back of your mind that dogs are not for you id wait for a litter theres plenty about from good lines be patient and don

Totally agree with bird I have a 3 year old boy I had also a beddy cross that bit him on the face when he was 2 not the dogs fault but mine ever sinse that I've penned my dogs in learnt my lesson there it only takes one bite it's game over I think he is acting very responsibily if he can't kennel it for any reason dog must go to to a male owner with no kids preferably with it's own space atb donk ps im gutted for you mate
