    most of the places I go you rarely bolt more than one or two from a warren, if I was on permission that regularly has 4, 5, 6 in a warren I'd definitely use nets....with just one in a warren though it's ideal for not using nets. I know what you're saying about the ground though, if there's a lot of cover you ain't giving your dog much of a chance.

    Hey Rob, Yes Coyote's are our primary target , we have very few foxes , so it was nice to have a hunt on one, it brings the hounds back to their noses a bit, i find hunting coyotes a fair bit of the time makes the hounds a bit what i call flashy, because coyote's on the whole run quite straight and fast, it makes the hounds do the same, so they miss turns and the like, and so it is nice to make em slow down a bit and work for it Thanks pal, interesting!

    No it is not all doom and gloom. It is not illegal to go lamping for rabbits or to take them in daylight. It is illegal to run a hare with more than one dog and to take them at night. Whoever has started this thread is not giving ALL the relevent information. If stopped, write down the collar numbers of each police officer and make notes of what exactly is happening, with times. They cannot prevent you from doing this unless they arrest you - for which you would need to have committed a cime, not just be suspected of it. At the end of the matter, the police are responsibl for the condition

    I saw exactly the same thing yesterday, a warren that was quite productive last year but of the 10-12 holes at least half of them had a massive sloppy shit right at the entrance.....my lurcher marked it and then started digging at the hole which she never does for rabbits. I assumed it was a fox because the holes weren't that big, they hadn't been dug out that much....do foxes shit in the entrances or is it usually badgers? these were proper massive sloppy ones, as in the size of a big dog shit. It was like they'd been strategically placed at the entrance for some bizarre reason!!!

    absolutely ridiculous isn't it, an hour or so down the road and there's a 5 year old kid missing and these tits are driving around trying to find people hunting. Is it really that high on the priority list??? Even the lampers that are actually breaking the law are surely way down the list compared to rapists, burgulars, muggers etc. It's just easy hits to get their figures up, absolutely pathetic!
