I see a season of excellent running, the dog doing everything right apart from getting the end result, and plenty of claims about next season being the one that really matters! Nice looking dog Stew! Next season he'll be a "world beater" either that or after a dire season he'll sell it for a fraction of what he bought it for

I've got a 4 month old hob that I'll be starting soon so it'll be OK then, my hob snuffed it the day before the season started so I haven't really had a choice other than to run with one. To be fair to my jill though she's worked like a trojan before today, perhaps one session too many....

Could be, I have had her working her ass off recently so maybe a rest is needed....I'll give it a rest for 2 or 3 days I think.

not always, after she'd killed that buck the other day she was just covered in muck, no fur or blood on her. Could have been water though, it did piss it down last night.....hadn't thought of that either!

Maybe, although my jill is usually spot on and will keep at them until they bolt, no matter how long it takes. Having said that when I was out on Wednesday she took a bit of a hammering off a big buck rabbit, she killed it in the end by the time I dug to her but it did knock her about a bit. Maybe she's still sore so wasn't putting everything in to it? I'm only using one ferret at the moment until my hob is ready to go out so it is hard work at times!

I hadn't thought of that! I haven't seen any up top on that farm but there are a lot of foxes around there so they probably get snapped up pretty much straight away. That would make sense actually because the dog would mark, the jill would go down for 10 mins or so and then come back out, and as I'm picking the nets up the dog is still marking the warren. I've had quite a few rabbits out of there in the past week and none of them have shown any signs of mixi though

I was in two minds whether to get up early this morning to go ferreting as I've got a wedding tomorrow so was thinking I might have a lie in....set alarm anyway and eventually decided to give it a whirl so was out at 6am ready to get going at first light.....even driving to the farm I just had a funny feeling it was going to be a poor day, not sure why! Anyway, to cut a long story short I was out for 3 and a half hours, paddling through mud, getting nettled to feck and walking for miles (all perfectly fine if you actually catch a few)......which I didn't, absolutely f'ck all! Poor kid....although to be honest she didn't really help herself, flashing and than shagging some lad who she knew had a girlfriend. Every kid that typed messages saying they hoped she was dead etc. should be named and shamed, so should the lads that tracked her down, cowardly little wankers! I don't understand how any parent could let a 14/15 year old kid just go on the internet unsupervised to be honest.
