what do you mean? so if I got one of those halogen lights, took it apart and connected the +/- wires to the terminals on a 12v battery, is that all that's needed? sorry if it's a stupid question but I don't really know much about electrics!

yeah that's what I'm thinking.....just for small fields when out and about for an hour or so. Don't have any land with big open fields at the moment and won't be out for hours and hours at a time so it seems a bit daft to shell out £100 plus on a decent lamping kit.

yeah I've seen those on ebay....just seems wierd to get a strong enough beam off a normal torch but people seem to think they're brilliant don't they!

Is there any reason why you couldnt use a 1 or 2 million candle power torch for short lamping sessions? i know battery life is very short but for 4 or 5 runs would they have the power and beam to do the job?

Exactly....we can find a tiny tribe deep in the amazon rainforest but we cant find a big cat in the uk................but simo says there out there so i think that makes it gospel.... it was out there!!!! unfortunately shoota matts hob scoffed it so the evidence has gone forever.

I think that's the biggest negative point of the internet and modern technology. There's no mystery in anything any more. With google and the internet, you can find out the answers to pretty much anything, and now with google earth you can see anywhere in the world.....good in some ways, bad in others.

The strange thing is he could have sorted it quite quickly and it would have cost him buttons, now there's several people on this thread who've said they were going to get one but are now getting one from somewhere else and someone has put a link to this thread on a catapult website so one act of shite customer services has probably cost him at least a dozen or so sales......very strange way of doing business!
