  8. Don't bother with the hard ends. If the dog wants to enter naturally let him go. Youll know yourself when he's ready to go....atb
  9. Good stuff Danny. Glad to hear the young dog went well. Didnt get out today myself had to go into work this morn and the lads are away down south meeting other fellas to go for a hunt, so I wasn't going to play catch up at lunchtime. Especially with that rain lol. Well done Danny.

  11. Are you Just gonna give it a miss then Danny ?
  12. Maybe he's just not pushing threw them that extra bit !!! Has the dog got a good nose ??? I wouldn't be giving him any more hard ends tbh. If he's travelling then that's half the battle. Try dropping one up for him and waiting a few secs and then letting him in, that should do the trick and maybe he'll click that he needs to push on that bit further in the future. Atb
  13. Interesting. So you don't believe they were soft mouthed then, Just they are very hard to catch ?
  14. I'm more into coarse fishing myself. Pike fishing mostly and eel fishing in the summer months. I do remember when I was younger going down to stay in the army camp with my mate and his family for a few days in the holiday period. There were great big lumps off mullets in shoals of maybe 6 or 7. We could we could see them from the top of the bridge looking down into the sea water. So we tried for two days solid to catch at least one of them, to no avail. We got plenty of takes but for some reason we couldn't hook them??? I do recall an old man passing by and asking us which fish we were target
  15. Sorry old thing, what with the shooting season kicking in i shall not be venturing North until January, but rest assured the old 'Mono' will feel the wind beneath her as she is hurled to the horizan accross a Scottish storm beach................... Cracking pic there fella. I'm loving the lingo by the way, it's amusing yet I can relate to it very easily...lol
