    N. Ireland mate between beating with hounds and lamping most nights of the week they can fairly get the numbers.

    I was out with the lamp once and I walked into a field full of field mice. Thousands of them the dogs were going haywire, cudnt believe my eyes. Just as well my mate was with me or no one would have believed me.

    Brilliant post very informative. I have seen crags in the river blackwater in n. Ireland on a few occasions. I wouldn't be educated on them like yourself so I couldn't tell you what type they are tbh. I also believe there to be a lot of them in different lakes were I fish for pike. Reason being there's certain lakes that I know from experience that if I'm using a deadbeat on the bottom I always popp it up a few inches of the lake bed because on numerous occasions I've been constantly puked with my bite indicators bleeping threw the day with what I believe to be crayfish nudging the baits.     I'm close to lough neagh. The banns fishing crap at our end going into the lough. A lot of the lads have been drawing blanks lately from what I've heard.

    Good stuf fat man glad to hear that. I'm starting back with the terriers myself next week so I'll be concentrating on them mostly myself. Come the cold weather I'll probably give the fishing another try to see if things have picked up. Maybe there's too many shoals of bait fish and easy feeding for the pike with the warm weather, so in the winter they might be getting it tight enough for feeding and I might get a few better results. ???? Just a thought.

    I caught a right few doubles last winter biggest 26 1/2 pounds. My mate caught the same fish 3 months later full of spawn. At 29 1/2 pounds. Though from that all we've had is jacks. A lot of people are putting the blame on foreign nationals taking and killing everything in sight but as it deffinately wouldn't help the cause I'm not convinced that's the only issue here. Maybe the weathers still not right and the big pike will start being caught when the winter kicks in.     Usually when I'm going away one of my mates I dig with will keep the dogs for me or just cone round toons and sort them out. Then I'd repay the favour when they go away.

    I've been out a few times over the summer and although I've caught the usual summer jacks I havnt had any double figures as of yet this year. I know it's a bit early yet but I have been speaking to loads of other pike lads that have been saying the same. The general word on the street is the pike fishing is worse than ever. What's your views on this or do you's disagree with me on this ??? I've also notes that there hasn't been to many posts as of yet on here lately with any lads catching pike either !!!     We had a dog a few years ago dropped into a very big place never got a mark on him. After two days we could still hear him working away very deep in the ground, though still no mark on old deben box. We decided to collar up a wee bitch with new batteries hoping she would locate the dog. She went in and after another day we were lucky to get a mark on her at 14 ft. So hoping she was with the other dog and his collar batteries had died we dug to the bitch. Very hard ground in the early hours we broke threw to the bitch but the other dog was no were to be seen.     I havnt used that gear as of yet mate. So to be honest the best advice I could give you is to follow the instructions. Unless someone that has experience using advocate can comment further. I've heard of people over worming pups and making them very I'll as a result. If the worms are flying out of them after that dose I'd say it's done the job and to leave them until they're due another dose. other wise you're probably gonna blow the gutts clean out of them and make them worse than ever.     I agree. Pups should be wormed from 2 weeks with the best of stuff no matter what price to give them the best start possible. There's Nothing worse than going to a mans yard to see his litter and them all lying up with pot bellies full of worms. When you inquire about if they've been wormed he produces s cheap no good syrup that wouldn't worm a hamster. As said [bANNED TEXT] I like that drontal because when you dose them you see the results the next day when your cleaning the kennels. It puts my mind at rest knowing the dose has been affective.     Drontal puppy oral suspension does treat roundworm infections !!!!........MUDD......

    Drontal puppy syrup did the job for me. Most of them other puppy syrups that u can buy in any pet store ain't worth a bat. It takes you to go to the vet and buy the proper gear. Then when the dogs are older and wormed in around every 3 months or so depending on their diet I would try and change the wormer I use on them ex. Using drontal plus one time then milbemax the next and then troscan and so on. I find that stops the dogs getting immune to one type of wormer. Just my opinion but it Works for me!!
