You have to make that extra bit of effort to get into certain spots well out of the way that no one else will venture into. No traps left unattended are ever safe but if you find it hard to get in somewhere to sett them, chances are no one else will be bothered going so far to find a trap! If you get my drift! Lol

Cudnt give away the hot spots sorry. As already stated slot of places have been ruined by eastern Europeans netting and taking home good specimans for the table. River lagan holds plenty of dececnt double figures I took a 18lber out of it a few years back and I hear a 23lber was taken out a month or so ago. Check it out. Atb

Ye that sounds more like it muddog new I read something lol swim bladders the word I was looking for.what bait do ye use in the traps? usually dead cats ha ha nah seriously pal we use fish, pike bait that would't be the freshest. i'm sure if you put a thread up you'll get some good ideas as what to bait them with. if your gonna put them on the lough make sure its well out of the way and make sure you don't tell ANYONE were they are or that u've sett them. were ok we have a boat and can get into wee spots noone else can. had a few taken by the man on the patrol boat. if he see's our marke

da big mc. no two lakes are the same. that small one i showed you is very shallow and holds a few bait fish though there is no big fish in it. probably the biggest pike would be 15lbs tops. the good deep lake we fish holds big big pike as you've seen. now its a total different scenario altogether. yes i do believe the pike in it are cannibalistic, though there obviously is a natural food source there for them also. just maybe not plentiful. we've caught loads of fish out of it with large scars were bigger pike have had a go at them. there's a lot of things to take into consideration. depth of
