Presa Canario x Saluki Bull Grey for stud??
Gitano replied to Cunners's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Im not getting into the chihuahua thing again, Ive explained a hundred times that we added chihuahua blood to our line for bite, power, stamina and speed. Not my fault everyone else is blind to these obvious qualities. But nobodys actually explained why they think Presa blood shouldnt be added other than Bull blood is better. If his head was set on it no matter what then why would he bother starting the thread? he explained hes not from hunting circles and wanted experienced peoples opinions, which theyve given him but havent explained why. Personally id love to know why a bull would be far su -
Can't believe I've never seen this thread My mutts know we're off for a good run when they hear this track on in the car. I need it at my age to give me motivation to get off my arse. A real shot in the arm

Presa Canario x Saluki Bull Grey for stud??
Gitano replied to Cunners's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Very nice condition, mate. After a brutal summer here (40+ degrees) where it was impossible to exercise my lot properly I can start getting mine in similar nick -
Nice`page that Ned. I especially liked the article about getting meat from the shop, where no animals get harmed unlike hunting which is cruel, apparently. Class

Same here mate. I'm looking at importing some Brit and German breeders' dogs and would like to know if they're having me on about some costs. Loads of cheap flights from both countries to Spain (where I am) so I'm hoping there's cheap ways to do it

Mate, as has been said your dog hasn't proven itself in any way and ask yourself honestly what he'd bring to a cross that isn't out there already? I wouldn't breed my girl in my avatar (a fat pup at the time the photo was taken, she's in better fettle now) because there's so many boar-catching dogs here who are better than her, there's simply no need for me to churn yet more pups out to such a limited market. -
Good information, mate. Could come in handy for me as well

Hi mate. I'm on the case for more info from a guy who keeps Spanish Alanos for this exact task. I've pm'd you

Good to see the dogs folks are using throughout the world. Can't go far wrong with a nice mix of sighthounds and bulldogs. Cheers for the pix

Good thread chaps . Can't help about eastern Europe and its laws but there's still decent boar hunting with catch dogs and knife allowed here in Spain so I'm happy enough.

It's one of the biggest pains of my life here. As I've said on a thread a while back we've got Dogos/Rotts/GSDs/catch-dog Pits/Spanish Mastiffs and everything just left out in the streets here...so I'm up and out at 5 am to try to minimise these incidents. Even then it's not guaranteed that some c*nt hasn't just left their dog out overnight

Good info and pix Uphill Enjoyed my coffee this morning looking through this thread

Exactly the same here

AFT I said it on the other thread a while back with your boy's pix but it bears repeating: that is a very strong-looking, well-conditioned lad Good to hear he's coming along well

Gitano replied to Stabs's topic in Hunting Book's
Cheers for that book title. The sellers on amazon got 0% for reliability, though. Did you get it from the company threesticks? Looks a good book, if it actually arrives that is! got it of amazon secondhand hence the price cannot remember the seller details but book was in good nick and got it within 2 days just found out the sellers name was owl-smart usa that all the details i have got the book is well worth a look with chapters about hunting with blow pipe and another about digging with terriers Sounds an interesting read but although I'm ready to take a risk with the company -

I didn't have the best stream in the world but what Haye finished Chis with looked devastating and I can't believe there's talk of a fix. I honestly thought it was one of the cleanest finishes I've seen in a while. The fact he got up and was on his feet by 8 shocked me This little cruiserweight chap packs a nice wee wallop

The large LGD's wouldn't add anything to a lurcher surely? Here in Spain we have a very few real, working Spanish Mastiffs that guard livestock and will work together to ensure the safety of their "family". Living up in the mountains one will go back to the farm to eat, leaving a few more to do their job, and then another will head back for a bit of tucker once they know that there are sufficient numbers guarding the livestock. A friend of mine is a boar hunter who keeps 35-45 kg "gripping" dogs and he says these Mastiffs will kill any of his dogs that go towards the sheep; proper old style LG

Last year I had to go to the Town Hall to get them to sort the stray dog problem here. We worked out that there were habitually around 50 loose mutts in the village we live in-everything from Pit-type catch-dogs, Dogo Argentinos, Rottweilers, German Shepherds...you name it, they were often just let out on the streets while their piece of shit ignorant owners went about their business.(oh aye, a few nasty Labs as well ) I started having to get up at 5 am just to get my dogs out without a fight breaking out with mine under control on a lead and the others basically running amok. Anybody interested in bull breeds (and all those staunchly against them) should read this book if you haven't already done so http://www.pitbullproject.ca/placebo.pdf Might find out few things that you hadn't previously known and only takes seconds to download the complete thing .

Like a lot of folk I left home as a teenager and have spent the last 20 years looking for somewhere to call home. Haven't found it yet so will probably move up to France or the Basque Country this year as we can't abide this place we're in, in the south of Spain. Proper hillbilly place with inbred retards everywhere You live and learn, though, and everything's a learning experience. Anyone here living in France? I've just started doing a bit of research into where we might be going but would appreciate some experienced folk chiming in

Thanks for the pix, I like the look of the rugged, robust Airedale mixes I'm interested in reading up on the Airedale. Any sites you guys can recommend for true historical info rather than intenet nonsense? Much appreciated

Nah mate, although the TRX work looks good I've jumped into gymnastic rings and floor work. Very hard work it is, too. I've started sleeping 9 hours a night and an hour siesta every afternoon. Luckily I live in the heart of lazy b*****d territory i.e.Spain, so it's doable Working towards stuff like this Gotto admit, it makes me laugh when folk take the piss out of bodybuilders. Some of 'em are the most disciplined people out there. I like my booze and tucker too much and could never diet like these dudes
