  1. well, me n wor kid decided to try out the new permission tonight. Its a place I frequently stay when Im on my travels and always notice a big number of rabbits and a lot of destruction so on Tuesday I approached the gardener and asked what my chances were of having a go at reducing the numbers. His reply was...."you've got no chance....They never let anyone on here!!....but you can ask....." So ask I did, in my best diplomatic voice...... The manager/owner was over the moon that it was FREE and immediately gave us permission to both shoot and ferret! Anyway, I text him tonight to le
  2. The place itself is riddled with rabbits, so much so they have a warrens everywhere including right down the side of his house and they aren't people shy as when walking around you can easily get within 20yds and that's in daylight! There are a few with mixy that will be the first to go but we'll have to see what happens on Friday night Darryl
  3. Not trying to sound daft here but have you tried going down range (safely) while someone else fires your rifle?? The rifle will always sound louder to the shooter with the head being so close to the action. Darryl
  4. would a glob of weld not do anything mate and then filed down?? Darryl
  5. spot on mate.... they must've heard on the grapevine that you were coming and decided to saty in for the night! Darryl
  6. very nice mate, but as much as you want to try not to go overboard on it and you may find you'll be shooting at thin air if you dont! Darryl
  7. Nice bag there mate....that'll make some nice grub!! Darryl
  8. cracking shooting.... I'm fascinated at the POI at the different ranges...theyre all on the centre dot, no holdover/under needed! Darryl
  9. sounds good Bill I hope it's all you expect when you get it back Darryl
  10. Nice mate, Not a criticism but why shoot them so close?? Unless they were that close when you were scanning Darryl
  11. Wor kid had a prosport when we first started going out with Si at Catterick & before he "went PCP". Taking bunnys out at 45m+ absolutely brilliant rifle and would get a recommendation from both me and him Darryl
  12. Nice one, at least you're sorted! It's probably an FX one mate, wor kid has one on his at the moment but you cant get a Twink on with it due to the length. If you change your mind drop me a message mate Darryl
  13. Best thing is to get down there before it gets dark and have a look at the lay of the land.... Where the runs are, the holes, toilet areas and maybe lay a little bait.... Depending on how clued up the rats are..(theyre clever!!) Will depend on how you need to go about it. They may scatter when they see a lamp as they know a lamp means danger, yet again if its not been touched you might find youll be ok. You might need to rezero to a closer range too depending on how much room you have Use a dim light with a red filter and hope for the best!!! One more thing take something to pick t
  14. Any news on this mate?? I'm interested in the outcome Darryl
  15. Cheers for the comments lads.... They're much appreciated! Cheers for the kind words Simon, we'll have to arrange something between us so we can pop down and visit you sometime as you're only "just down the road" If any of you guys fancy a shoot with us you're more than welcome Darryl
  16. No probs Chaz...... I'll make you a weaker one for next time mate..... I'll order the hoody too Darryl
  17. Expectation is 130+ shots in .22 mate I've not got a carbine to test it on but others using the same have had an average of double the shot count of the standard cylinder Darryl
  18. No because these are quickfill and dont need to be removed once fitted, unlike the mk1 where the cylinder needed to be removed for filling Darryl
  19. They need a few layers of dubbin mate, the waterproofing is all but gone on them now.... 3 years old too, not bad for a £20 pair of boots from the factory shop....still got a lot more left in them yet.... Darryl
  20. Definately 100% providing it doesn't fall on a date where I've a pre-booked wedding Darryl
  21. Tested the standard size yesterday in .177 and on a full 200bar charge we returned 153 useable shots using AAF 8.4gr before any POI shift so is estimate it at being around the 120-130 mark Darryl
  22. That's my foot mate and its a big old size 9....... Me n Gary were taking turns with my rifle & nv whilst his is at Adis getting some work done. Darryl
