  7. thanks,it's all going well wilf, it is a lovely country, BC is a beautiful Provence, the scenery is to die for, have you ever thought about going over to see your mate? i don't suppose you know, did your mate say why he didn't like going back to England,
  8. when we were in Alberta, i went to red deer a few times, for the car shows, nice place, i would image, Christmas in Banff would be pretty spectacular, it's a place of natural beauty, in winter it must look a picture,it's a big step to up and move away from your homeland, one which takes a lot of thought.....for me....i had the opportunity, and took it, this may, i will have been here two years, (and it's flown past) only another two years...and i can apply to get my citizenship, then iv'e got the choice to stay or go back home or visa versa, without all the paper work again.... Fair pl
  9. yeah, i thought the same, but they have a policy here, when a mountain lion comes into a public area, it's given a chance to be scared away, and if it does, all well and good, sometimes they may be passing through the area and get sighted, then scaring them is enough, but, if not, it gets shot for fear of someone young/old being attacked, they do tranquilize bears if they get to be a problem in the wrong place, then take them back to the mountains, as a bear will usually run away at the sound of a humans voice, a cougar is considered more dangerous,
  10. yeah, find out where they go, it will be good to know, the cabelas and bass pro stores are so inviting aren't they, my wife's sat in them chairs around the fire place a few times.... but the stores themselves are fantastic, they seem endless with goodies, and the animal scenes are a good view, as well as the fishing/hunting gear, you can also buy fishing/party pontoon boats, atv's, and quads all under one roof.
  11. good to here you have nice weather bud....i actually took some pics of the super moon a couple of nights back, it won't be around for another 69 years, it doesn't take them long to throw the place up, does it, i saw them doing a new cosco in Calgary and it seemed like, a few months, and it was there.....

  13. we've seen a few black bears now, we watched one late yesterday afternoon along the inlet picking up the dead salmon which have been up river to spawn, then die, easy pickings for him, for the winter, also sea lions catching the salmon, they would smash them on the surface of the water to break them up to eatable sizes, then the sea gulls come over to get the bits which are left, even if your not looking, you can hear the slapping sound, we have seen some nice wildlife here, but not any cougars yet, there was one only 50yrds out of the window, at next doors, new chickens, but he got scare off,
  14. No mate, tills area has the highest density of cougar in Canada, and the highest number of black bear in an a province, this province has the second highest number of black bear, when we were picked up at the airport there was two white tailed deer feeding on the roadside on the short drive home, seen mainly waterfowl since I have been here, lots of geese and duck, and seen quite a few whitetail in the city and the outskirts, saw one yesterday grazing near some houses.Tilly, got a month here, got here last Monday,Christmassy family stuff, got some mates from Sunderland "the cod squad" going near you next
  15. nice one mack....yeah, get some pics up bud, there wild animal scenes are pretty good, how long are you here for?

  17. in your case, i would say a dihatsu fourtrak would be the tool for the job, they were prone to rot, but a very good 4x4,
  18. buy a boat........... ......only joking... you could try what forest of the dean redneck and ratattack have mentioned, iv'e tried the live bait rig at times like this, but with no success, like ratty said, it can be along waiting game, what beach are you fishing at mate?
  19. the jeep Cherokee 2.4td sport, was good on fuel, and good off road, don't no much about the x trails, but stay away from land rovers, there nothing but trouble,
  20. they are brilliant motors bud, voted one of the best motors in the world ever made, so reliable, comfortable, roomy, good for towing, good on fuel (for the size of engine and weight) and very strong engines that go on for miles and miles....what's....not to like bud...
  21. the grand cherokee's are good motors bud, most of the jeeps are...far better than them crappy, shitty land rovers, there's an art to off road driving, and a good set of boots, like you say, the problem is....when a 4x4 does get stuck, people instantly blame the 4x4!!!...saying, there crap 4x4's, 9 times out of 10, it's driver error,
  22. welcome Shaun....there's a lot of good guys/gals on here that will point you in the right direction, you have to tread carefully going into the air rifle section, there all married to each other, so it can be a bit clicky........... tell them you had a spring air rifle before you had the bsa r10, and they will go easier on you....... seriously tho...they will help you.
