  1. My nitesite Wolf gave up on me last night screen just flickered and then died,I took it back to Shooters World Mexborough and could not have been more helpful they offered to lend me the viper version whilst mine was being sorted, it was the only one they had in stock, but I declined the offer, they said that they will either replace the bad unit which in this case was the monitor or replace the whole set for new the following working week, not very happy about the Wolf going down after only four outings but very happy with service offered at Shooters World.

  6. Purchased one of these units tried it out for second time last night on air rifle with the intention of using it on rimfire when my application comes through fingers crossed,as it says one tin up to 300yds id on quarry no problem depending on conditions, very lightweight and easy to use, good clear image at night but found it a bit harder to use in day because of daylight reflection from screen, although still getting to know this unit I can see no problem using it for foxing out to 300yds,rabbits perfect, ratting perfect, although not cheap if you have a selection of rifles they are ideal for swa
  7. A bit belated reply, but I use steel on pigeons because they are cheep and I sell them on to a local animal sanctuary cheap for there hawks, it doesn't cover all my costs but helps a little with cost of carts.
  8. I use 7.5 Gamebore supersteel 24 or 28g through 3/4 choke no problems out to quite reasonable range as well, find using more open choke unless birds in close they tend to flight through pattern, 24g 3/4 choke through semi very good clean kill ratio cost £36 for 250.
  9. Starting to see birds on peas no great number but seem to increasing as days go by, especially patchy areas adjacent to woods, Worksop Nottinghamshire.
  10. Been nothing to talk about on fresh sowings this year, got 120 acres of peas but nothing on them at moment, still seeing a lot of birds on grass early hours.
  11. Anyone recommend a proven rat cage trap that works well.
  12. Same down here Worksop Nottinghamshire England, hardly seen anything this year on drilling all still in woods on buds ect,110 acres of fresh sown peas surrounded by mixed woods last month nothing on em.
  13. I normally use 7.5 light clay loads both steel and lead the latter for better range and steel if I'm passing onto hawks, through 3/4 choke no problems.I only use a more open choke if there coming in well on decoys.
  14. I always find when shooting crows that a dead rabbit opened up and one crow decoy brings them in range to start with, then some of the dead crows I put back out, though to many decoys out do at times make them wary, also a well camouflaged hide (natural cover is best) and that includes the shooter is very important, always were a face veil and keep very still while they get in range,if they are turning away at distance they are seeing something they consider not right so you will need to change tactics.
  15. Have a read at this you have to stick to wording of the terms to be on the safe side of the law,you never know who's might be watching.http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/images/canadageese_tcm6-4547.pdf
  16. I been clearing some from horse paddocks last few days, they do make a mess off grass with there droppings, not what I would call sport though only shoot em if they are on paddocks easy.Much prefer to call em in with decoys but got to be careful and stick to general licence terms and conditions, nice eating never waste em.
  17. 24g 71/2 steel half choke,28g 71/2 lead 3/4 - full got price down to 13 pence per shot cheap and knocking them out at good distance with lead.
  18. Nice video, enjoyed watching, well done.
  19. Same here went out today and bolted three cockers and got one full of young never seen them this early in past five years.
  20. Had a good couple of hours on crows Sunday, kept it simple used natural cover to hide behind a low fern branch up against a fence, put one crow decoy out with opened up pigeon and a magpie decoy about 5ydrs off left all shot birds out on ground were they fell, it sent the blacks wild they just flew around quite often close to ground squawking there heads off,3/4 choke used odds and sods lead carts I had left over took em out easy.I changed to steel shot after running out of lead so had to open up to 1/4 then the situation changed birds not dropping pattern was to open so packed up called it a

  23. Interesting that some of you have started to use harnesses on ferrets with locators as a result in some cases of ferrets throwing traditional collars off, and from my own experience on two occasions finding them difficult to retrieve, has anyone got a particular type of harness that they prefer and were did you get it from,I am thinking of trying one out if they are a good safe alternative to the traditional collar.
