  1. As jackinbox says the S510 has the newer lever cocking action, which many people prefer. It was first used on the FAC versions of the S410 because the bolt action was too difficult to operate. However despite the shrouded barrel, you will still need an additional silencer for hunting, which needs to be taken into account. Cheers Sib
  2. Well done for sticking at it under difficult conditions. Cheers Sib
  3. Don't keep showing us your HW100 Davy. Every time I see it I go the same colour as the gun, with envy! Cheers Sib
  4. Lovely looking rifle. I'd be afraid of dropping it in the mud or it falling over - far too pretty for hunting! Cheers Sib
  5. I believe that with modern PCPs there is little difference in accuracy with variable barrel lengths (although I am prepared to be shot down in flames on this). For the distances most shoot at, a shorter barrel will do the job just as well as a full length one. Look at the accuracy of rifles like the BSA Ultra or WH100k However with the shorter barrel generally comes a shorter air cylinder and, consequently, less shots per fill. If you are shooting from a vehicle or a hide a carbine is a must, as it enables you to move the gun around quickly and efficiently without getting caught on nettin
  6. Have a look on the Air Arms Owners forum. The consensus of opinion is that you should fill to 175 bar and that should give you a good 50 shots in .22,without much drop off. Cheers Sib
  7. Nice write up and pictures. Good to see someone hunting with a HW95. Keep us up to date with your progress with the woodies. Cheers Sib
  8. Start off by finding the mid point of the adjustment for both turrets. You do this by winding the adjustment all the way to one side (or up or down). Then wind it all the way back counting the number of complete turms and whatever else. Then divide that in half and wind back again in the reverse dirsection, that amount. That will give you the halfway setting. Do that on both adjustment turrets. Lay the scope in the bottom half of the mounts and bring the gun up to your normal mounting position. If the scope is looking where you think it should, carry on as normal, then adjust accordingly.
  9. Great shooting again Zini. You have the skill to take shots that I would not have the confidence (or experience to take) Your posts completely dismiss the theories, voiced by many so called experts, that you should not take game over 30-35yds with a .22 Cheers and have a good trip to Germany. Sib
  10. Don't you ever give the vermin a day off Si?? Cheers Sib
  11. I had been thinking about getting a Weihrauch HW100KT or a Verminator in the New Year. I was put off the latter by Zini's bad experience and several others I read about on the internet. To be honest I had never considered a R10, but seeing it perform has made me sit up and take notice. The fact that it is regulated helps, although being a pump man. I'd probably top up every 30 or so shots. It seems to be one of the unsung heroes and never mentioned in the same breath as HWs, AAs and Daystates. Sib
  12. This has made it more impressive for me Si, as you can now appreciate how far away the targets really are. Also liked the mildot info on one of the shots. Now all you need for the next DVD is a "through the scope" shot. That would be brilliant. Have a look at some videos by a girl called Emma on YouTube. She goes under the name of Cubleycat (also Snypercat) and has some good footage. In one of her videos she shows how to attach a video camera to the scope. Cheers Sib
  13. You've done well again Si. Take a couple of days off. Sib
  14. Nice one Zini. Lovely gun that HW100. Cheers Sib
  15. Well done mate. Bit of luck with the permission as well. Happy Christmas Sib
  16. Thanks for the info Si. Happy Christmas Sib
  17. I bought one about a month ago and it's Ok for £60. I keep in it the back of the Landrover, in case I forget a jacket. However, as others have said, you get what you pay for. Just not in the same league as a Deerhunter or similar, but they are twice the price. Cheers Sib
  18. Excellent video. However you didn't mention a price or UK suppliers. Looking forward to your review and use of some of the hand held calls. Cheers Sib
  19. Crikes. What chance do we stand if Zini admits he can't shoot accurately enough? Tell that to the corvids that were sitting over 40 yds away, that aren't any more!! Have a good Christmas lads, Cheers Sib
  20. Merry Christmas to all. Here's to a happy and healthy 2010 Cheers Sib

  22. Nice shooting and a lovely looking gun. I wish I could see some greenery - fed up with all the snow and we've just had a load more dumped on us! Sib
  23. Nice shooting and a nice write up and pictures Davy. At the moment we've still got around 5 inches of snow everywhere and I haven't seen a rabbit out for three days, although I can see their tracks clearly. Also the maggies and woodies seem to be content to sit in the middle of the big wood at the back of us and not come out to play. By the way, are you using AA Fields in the S410? Cheers Sib
  24. Excellent start with your springer, mate. Sib
