what special dogs have you owned and why? over the years i have owned 3 which i would say where special to me. only one of them was for coursing, the other two would take most game. the first one that stands out is my old bitch which is still here aged 18yrs, she is a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie ,one of the best rabbiting dogs ive seen , she hunted all types of land, fell , moorland to small paddocks, i would take hundreds with from dry stone walls and she was a demon on the lamp on hares she took plenty her best figures being 4 out of 4, it was the latter which spoilt her she didnt quit or stop b

they where decent dogs in the 's but when you breed from non workers you end up with problems, he made the big mistake by not using dogs or bitches which where good workers and introducing them back into the blood lines. which caused his breed to go stail

i think in some casers its down to breeding ive seen hole litters yap and lots which where from the same sire, take hancocks everyone ive seen have given mouth esp in the later years, i do what charlie says, i watch pups at an early age and if they are giving mouth when they are chasing or playing with other dogs i hold them back. all of mine are entered early if i think they are ready, you should treat each dog on there merits it is not set in stone on when to enter your dog as each one is different. there was one i owned was slaughtering rabbits but when it came to hares it yapped but so

i knew something was wrong with him when he posted a pic from a anti site asking who owned the dog . we all need to be wary of introducing people on here, we need to know them personaly before we recomend them , its no good saying that they have posted on other sites with pics and some bullshit story any fecker can do that . BE VIGILLANT!
